The second is that the PS4 just is not able to render coherent models and this is hampered further by a clunky user interface that offers only one option: on or off.The story uses the AC tradition of converging perspectives, but they are so badly written here that the overall plot becomes uninteresting early on. Luckily, all the cutscenes and briefing segments can be skipped. Unfortunately, the on-mission chatter, which sets a new low standard for the series, cannot be muted and must be heard in its entirety. It's so bad that the player feels like a hostage to cringe, and unless you're a natural ace pilot you'll hear many missions' worth several times.The lack of visual clarity in the game, at least in this version, is a serious detriment. Dogfighting is incredibly frustrating when you are simply not able to get a read on a plane's direction or bearing. Just as deflating is firing on ground targets only to realize there was actually a geographical feature that wasn't clear from the angle you approached. An equal offender here is the awful UI in general and heads-up display in particular, which feel lifted from a PS1 game for all their helpfulness and sense.Overall a bit disappointing although the package DOES manage to come together by the end, but the slog will likely scare all but the most committed, patient, and weeb-friendly pilots out there. Here's hoping AC8 is a serious step forward instead of a largely "safe" entry.

If you like jets but DCS is overwhelming give this a shot.

Just Fun. Has some Arcade aspects in it. Story was meh, but the game makes you feel in power. Music was amazing. It just accented the gameplay. Writing was better that the story. For example one aces in the game is part of a special squadron called sol squadron. When you have a boss fight with him a song called archangel plays. Mihaly, the ace, is the best in his squadron. He does special moves like flying into the sun. He is a a Archangel. Eventually you “clip his wings” and take his freedom off soaring into the sky away. The name of the song, the way mihaly flies, and the level is played out is just abig analogy to the angle who burned his wing by flying into the sun. This game is amazing and a blast to play. Still playing it in 2020. If you look closer though you’ll be completely baffled at the writing.

(comment ?! on est dans l'espace ou quoi ?!) après être passé dans un gros nuage (ah bon !!)... Ah il faut dire qu'ils bien bossé sur ces nuages, ils en sont très fiers et c'est vrai qu'ils sont beaux ces putains de nuages ! mais faudrait peut-être des fois se sortir la tête du fion, messieurs de chez Namco (Namcon ?...).Car si le jeu est assez joli, il reste par ailleurs très flou et pour cause, gavé de post-traitement, il n'est qu'en 1080 seulement... y compris sur la X ! il offre heureusement une fluidité impeccable (à 60 im/s) bienvenue. The content is plentiful, replayability remains high, and the presentation easily makes Ace Combat 7 one of the better arcade-style flight games on the PC. It has been a long time coming, but action flight fans and those who love the series won't be disappointed by Ace Combat 7.

I won't put it level with 4 & 5, purely as the story isn't quite as strong. But playing this game feels & plays how an Ace Combat should.As i said, i don't think the story is the best in the series but it's definitely very good. I like the addition of the aircraft tree/progression style & the graphics are very nice, although i do feel like the plane textures could've been better but it's not a problem or anything.Last couple notes; it's slightly disappointing they locked a plane away as an exclusive pre-order. I don't feel like the landing controls/physics/speed are very good, but i'm fully aware Ace Combat has always been & is an arcade game, it's just a little unpolished part of the game compared to everything else. This game sorely needs an fov slider, since theirs only 1 exterior & interior camera, which both feel too close. Lastly this game is much more enjoyable on the more realistic expert controls.

Pour ma part, les standards minimums ne sont pas respectés : bugs (légers, certes) de chargement, aucune prise en charge de joysticks (ah oui, pardon un modèle pris en charge, le Hotas 4 et son équivalent XBOX, fin de la liste), pour un jeu de simulation de combat aérien, même très arcade, il fallait oser.En l'état, ces soucis ne sont pas bloquants. En pratique, je peux jouer à Ace Combat, mais je ne veux pas y jouer si les conditions ne sont pas réunies. Cela reste un jeu, je dois y prendre du plaisir. Nous sommes en 2019, pas dans les années 90, les joueurs PC ont maintenant des standards élevés et un choix de jeux considérables pour patienter, ce qui sera mon cas tant que Bandaï-Namco ne fera rien pour rectifier le tir.Pourquoi une note si faible, alors que j'aurais pu me contenter d'attendre les rectifications ? Pour jeter du sel, pardi. Peu fournis parce qu'ils achèteront un matériel qui n'est pas donné (joystick, manette des gaz) et qui ne leur servira pratiquement jamais, prenant la poussière en attendant désespérément le prochain titre digne de les passer au chiffon microfibres ! Mal fournis parce que lorsque l'un des fleurons du genre arrive enfin, avec son lot de promesses, il leur rote au visage en expliquant que 1 : il ne prendra en charge que quelques modèles, donc achetez-les ou tant pis pour vous que et 2 : ce sont des modèles milieu voire bas de gamme, donc on s'en fiche si vous aviez investi dans quelques chose de mieux. On ne va quand même pas faire l'effort de rendre notre jeu agréable aux fans du genre, si ?Pour l'instant Bandaï-Namco n'a pas encore décidé de répondre officiellement aux nombreuses plaintes émises sur ces questions, ne confirmant ni n'infirmant que cela restera en l'état. La note Steam (30% de critiques positives, ouch) reflète la colère des amateurs du genre, il me semble que la note Metacritic doit en prendre un coup, elle aussi.

Longtime AC vets will love the quicker pace and increase on craft customization. Dogfights are a rewarding challenge and every part of the presentation is impressive. Its graphics are the best ever seen for a flight-based game and the soundtrack is outstanding too.

Though not without a little turbulence from the convoluted story and uneven difficulty, Ace Combat 7 delivers a fun and polished arcade flight experience that should entertain newcomers and veteran pilots alike.

I really enjoyed the story in the game because it managed to remain interesting throughout and it also made me fall in love with the series again. In terms of content there is more than enough to keep you satisfied for a while and the campaign delivers action throughout its entirety. Controlling and getting into combat with your jet is a thrilling ordeal and I must admit that I was surprised by how much depth the combat had. There’s a number of improvements and upgrades you can attach to your jet and this personal touch definitely made the game come alive for me more. Technically the game didn’t have many problems if any at all and I was especially impressed with the fluid and responsive controls that have been implemented. I did get a little frustrated every now and then and failing a mission on one small mistake was certainly an eye-opener. Ace Combat is a series that I love from the bottom of my heart because nobody does flying combat quite like these series of games. As you can imagine then to say I was looking forward to Ace Combat 7 would be a massive understatement and thankfully my high expectations were met and then some because I’m not exaggerating when I say that Ace Combat 7 is the best the series has seen so far. From the get go then you can choose from a lot of different content but I recommend that you go straight to the campaign first because each mission combined with the fantastic story takes you on an unforgettable journey. Obviously the most important thing of a game of this ilk is not the story but of course its flying elements and thankfully I’m pleased to say that the combat and flying feels better than ever. Technically the game also delivers in all areas and not once did I get down by the tight and responsive controls. In terms of problems then the game doesn’t really have any and my only slight issue is that the game’s difficulty can spike out of nowhere from time to time, but I was easily able to look past this. At the end of the day then Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown has made this fantastic franchise come alive again and it’s catered to both newcomers and veterans alike which means anybody can get involved, and when it’s all said and done I can’t recommend this game enough to you. Two thumbs up!

A fantastic campaign mode, a VR mode so great that it should go down in history, and so many other aspects make Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown an incredible package. However, it helps to be familiar with the series in order to savor its greatness.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown finally fulfills the expectations of those players from my generation who loved Ace Combat 04 and 5, bringing the series back to its roots in a masterful way. While there are a few relevant innovations, the good folks at Project Aces kept their eyes and ears open and listened to the fans of the franchise who wanted to return to Strangereal and to the Ace Combat that we know and love.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is a fantastic return to form that benefits from modern console hardware, making a more dynamic air combat experience. The story, told from different perspectives on both sides of the war, has a tendency to be too serious and overwrought to the point of hilarity but I always give it a pass because it’s so endearing.

In terms to flight controls and gameplay they didn’t change much from previous games which isn’t a bad thing because it was good to begin with. One thing that disappointed me was that they removed wingmen commands which they had previously on AC 5. The wingmen AI is horrendous and is a lot worse when you have no control over it. You end up having to do everything yourself. There was one mission where you had to escort a transport with a single wingman while taking out SAMs bombarding the transport in every fkn direction while also tracking back and taking out any bandits intercepting said transport. They put too much emphasis on you the player taking total control of the battle by shooting down 50 + enemies while the wingmen are there just for fodder which really ruins immersion and realism.Also another thing they removed was wingmen assignment. In AC 5, for missions that require elimination of Air and Ground targets you can assign your wingmen to different planes that have different roles (fighter/multi role/ground assault). In AC 7 it’s just you who can choose and end up having to use an A10 to have enough firepower to take out 100 + ground targets then have to contend to fighting Mig 29s and some OP boss with a modified SU 33 (my poor A10 got lucky on the 5th go of that mission).Typical AC series is the graphics and sound are all excellent. All planes have great detail and the payload is accurate apart from Railguns and lasers (wish they brought back the Napalm bomb for the F4s. The music nostalgic especially during the multiplayer where they brought some classics back and remixed a bit.The Campaign is a bit all over the place looking at both sides of the war. Wingmen didn't really gel and I didn't really care if they died compared to Nagase, Archer and Chopper (Team Razgriz!). It didn’t really engage me but I’m just playing this to shoot planes and blow **** up anyways.Multiplayer is pretty meh and time consuming as they’re player lobbies and no quick match options. All you get is Free for All and team Death Match which you’re only gonna use Air superiority planes like the F15 Eagles and F35s because you’ll get totally wrecked using Assault and Multi Role planes. They should have siege modes where one defends and the other have to destroy a target like the Ark bird or Stonehenge but this could be added in future.Overall, the game play is non stop action and excitement…and somewhat annoying as you’re a one man team against 100. Air plane fans will love it, I’ll give it a 6 but since they threw in my AC 5 in my preorder I’ll push it to a 7.

You are pilot of Osea Federation (Equivalent of Murica Fck Yeah) against Kingdom of Erusea ( European Nation combined). In this world, the technology is one step ahead of our world so dont be surprised when you see laser, or superweapon here.Ace Combat 7 also let you express your creativity with ton of customizations. You can select a special paint job that based of many real life great livery of famous World Air Forces. You can also choose emblem in your lovely plane. Also from the tech tree, you can choose many upgradeable parts , and choose it according to your strategies. you cann opt to durable plane, or heavy weapon plane, or quick and swift plane.The control is fun and nice , select for Expert control as it the best way for you to control the plane. It may be hard if you new for this, but with adapt gameplay and control, you gonna be Aces in no time. The Allies A.I is pretty agressive and sometime steal your kill, but will not steal the show for you (although I hope the Allies A.I can be more competent at least for the elite squad).Ace Combat is famous for their epic music. just listen for Zero-Ace Combat Ost, Liberation of Gracemeria, First Flight AC5 ,Comona on youtube and you gonna be immersed by it. It will live up your dreams as Fighter of Top Gun Pilot. you also can watch an epic airshow and fly in beautiful world of Strangereal.The Multiplayer is pretty neat and chaotic. for now it just 4 vs 4 deathmatch and one for all brawl. Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is only really brought down by the occasional frustration felt upon the often unfair failure of a mission. Its campaign really is great overall, but sometimes you’ll curse when a timer imposed upon you expires when you’re just shy of meeting a score target. Or when a mission critical friendly plane gets shot down just as you’re about to dispatch the last enemy. You’ll always hit that “Retry From Checkpoint” option though and jump right back in, because Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown’s moment-to-moment gameplay is simply ace.

It may not appeal to everyone, but if you’re a plane enthusiast looking for a game to truly bring excitement to the skies, not only is this the game you’ve been waiting for, but it’s the game the series’ 20+ year history has been building towards, pulling no punches in bringing the ultimate experience.
