Characters are fun and likeable, each possessing a camp charm. DLC is intresting and nice bit of extra content. The PS5 enhancements such as adaptive triggers and framerate boost are a very nice edition. A few nitpicks I have is that Alan's stamina is fairly annoying as running for 5 seconds results in about 10/15 seconds of resting which also results in making the dodge mechanic useless. Igniting a Flare sends the camera into a disorientating 360 degree when surrounded by enemies, which is cool initially but gets tedious quite quickly. There was also a lot of stuttering at the beginning of cutscenes that weren't present in the PS4 version. Nitpicks aside, this game is definitely worth a go for it's unique story and gameplay.

I didn't get the chance to experience Alan Wake when it was first released in 2010. I was very eager to experience a Remedy game for myself, but unfortunately Quantum Break was an Xbox exclusive that underperformed. Thankfully, Remedy released Control in 2019 and I wholeheartedly enjoyed that game (it was easily one of my top 10 games for that year). When Remedy released the second DLC expansion for Control in 2020 entitled AWE, I was excited to learn that AWE would connect Control with Alan Wake and I would finally have the chance to experience a smidgeon of the overall vibe of Remedy's masterpiece. AWE turned out to be a fantastic cross-over, albeit a little cryptic, but it ultimately delivered what it promised.When Remedy announced that it would be releasing a remastered version of Alan Wake this year I was pretty ecstatic to be able to finally play the actual game, and now I can finally share what I think of Remedy's opus.

Alan Wake Remastered is an example of what can be a good remaster of a videogame without an abusive price, it fixes some of the main issues that prevented a good game to make sense in today’s standards. Its ideals and the writer’s story would easily fit in any period of the gaming history so if you haven’t played it, this is an ideal opportunity to do it and the best way to fuel the hope for a potential sequel.

This game holds up very well to modern standards. I did not encounter any game breaking bugs during my two playthroughs. Only fixable issue is that the cutscenes run at 30 fps and can be choppy at times. Do yourself a favor and jump into the Remedy universe. You won't be disappointed!

Alan Wake Remastered is the definitive version of Alan's story in Bright Falls. It is the exact same game that acquired quiet respect amongst fans and critics following its 2010 release. Only now it boasts 4K visuals and 60FPS gameplay. Along with some welcome bonus features, and packaged-in DLC, the remaster is a must for superfans, and a fantastic starting point for curious newcomers, with only a few small annoyances that stop it just short of reaching perfection.

But the most interesting thing is that if you review these cut scenes in the main menu, through the gallery, these lags will not be there, fix it. 2) Because of the problem with fps in the cut-scenes also have a problem with the lag of sound from the action on the screen, fix it please. 3) The game is 11 years old, and you could not make in the remaster stable 30 fps, I constantly feel the drop in fps with a large number of effects on the screen, fix it. 4) Throughout the game I also noticed problems with the sound, it sometimes disappears during the time when Alan takes out a false flare and starts lighting a large number of possessed around him. 5) Observe problems with the effects when the possessed cars explode. I'm not berating you for 900p in the game, I'm not berating you for not making 60 fps, I just want a stable game like it is on PS4. I paid money for this, and you gave me some unoptimized stump that you didn't even bother to test before releasing the game. Rated only 1 out of 10 so far, that's terrible.

I just find it weird when people play it and act like cutscenes aren't top tier, like people don't understand that this is updated 2010/2012 video game. Ghosting effect is gone (thank god). Maxed out, this is now best version of this game and nobody can argue that. I've always loved Alan Wake and the remaster just makes it better. But this is a 10 year old game just getting upscaled to 4k and a few other graphical enhancements. While some people criticize the gameplay for being too much of the same but I always enjoyed it. The flashlight mechanic is a nice way to enhance the combat making you dodge and weave and use bullets to slow them down before they get too close to you.And the story is still amazing, for all of you new to remedy with Control I think you'll love this story.Also anyone into Twin Peaks or more supernatural/psychological horror should check it out as well!For $40 with the two dlc packs and new commentary for us longtime fans this is easily worth picking up whether you're a returning fan or have been curious to see what it's all about. Whether you’re a new fan of Remedy’s work, or a long-time player, there’s never been a better excuse to visit or return to Bright Falls.

I waited more than 10 years to finally play Alan Wake, and now that I’ve seen the credits roll, I can’t get it out of my mind. It’s firmly sunk its teeth into me, and like with many of the other greats, I’ll be returning to this world again and again for years to come.
