You then get into a race and the AI isn't the worst I have seen but they act as if they are in a street racing game instead of a sim racer. They would always try and do dangerous overtakes on narrow corners and stuff.The chase camera in this game is the worst I've seen in any game. It just made the game feel overall quite slow and boring. Plus its stuck to the back of the car which was annoying. If the car move the slightest bit the camera would move with it. There is a slider to lock to horizon but that didn't change much for me.The controller binding options were really confusing and I couldn't work out how to change half the options. Like how the camera can't be controller right the right stick but instead the 2 bumpers.The cock pit view with the steering wheel looks horrible on controller. When your steering the wheel looks like its glitching all over the place. You can turn the wheel off thou but then it doesn't feel right for me.I haven't taken marks for the fact there is only around 30 cars or so in tis game as these devs haven't got as much funding as Turn10 or Polophony digital. But now ACC has sold over 1.4m copies I hope to see closer to 100 cars in the next game.The graphics in this game are good and overall the driving is quite realistic and its great to see how well Unreal Engines driving can be. I hope AC2 is built on UE5 as it will be awesome to see how much better the driving will be on the new UE.Overall I think ACC needs a better single player as I found the current career mode boring. This is the SIM we've all been waiting for on the current-gen consoles. KUNOS admittedly have downgraded the visuals to accommodate the realistic physics on the console edition... But once you exit pit lane - you don't really care. Visually, the more powerful PS4 Pro and XBOX X would offer a higher quality HDR and smoother refresh rates I would imagine, but on the pleb machine I am using I often get tearing and "jitters" while racing, which can be slightly annoying to the eye. This isn't a deal breaker, but it is annoying when you're doing precise driving to perfect your laps. What this means is, when you are aiming for your mark on the apex the tearing or "jitter" on screen makes it seem the apex has suddenly moved a fraction, and your brain naturally tells your arms and hands to turn the wheel as a reaction. I find this causes overdriving of the car.

With its massively upgraded visual presentation and much more responsive racing together with a surprisingly immersive DualSense implementation, one of the best hardcore racing simulators out just got even better on PS5. This is the definitive version of Assetto Corsa Competizione on console and that fact alone should be a cause for celebration for anyone with even a passing interest in highly detailed racing simulations.

All these problems are well below console platform limitations. And the 505Games support is at a surprising low standard with lack of communication with customer base and very poor service. It's evident that the original developer makes a great job in supporting and updating PC versions, while software porting company submits the feeling of inaccurate and sloppy implementation of a title that for complexity needs a quite different knowledge of Simracing games, approach and dedication.All this said, ACC remains an almost playable and enjoyable Simracing experience on console, with wide space to improvements that are still to be proved and submitted.

Still screen tearing, unstable 30-34 frames per second - unrelenting stutter. Among dozens of other functional problems (like multiplayer crashes, dim headlights make driving at night impossible, no pedal calibration, too few setup save slots, setups randomly lost, static cockpit view angle completely unsuitable for racing rig users, keyboard support removed through patch,...) there's not even a way to get at least Force Feedback to feel right. Feels like driving a hovercraft. I expected little and yet I was bitterly disappointed. On PC I really love the game and everything has to offer, but D3T have made a bodge job on the console port. The icing on the cake is that they communicate that the next paid DLC was given higher priority than the extremely disturbing functional problems. Surely nobody can understand that. It is absolutely incomprehensible to me on what basis people score the game at 8, 9 or even 10. In my opinion, these cannot be real ratings. Just have a look at the ACC forums, the number of critics is overwhelming.

However I must admit that this game sticks with the grand prize concept of racing and has included the intricacies of racing down to the way you tighten each bolt or how you prep the motor. Now me not beinng familiar I just auto set all that up. This game caters to the die hard fans of motor racing. The controls are super delicate and as in real life the grand prix cars are fragile. I loved the graphics and the fluid motion of the controls. Even someone who doesn't like racing games found myself immersed on wanting to win, or wanting a perfect run. Which wasn't easy like Mario Kart per-say. This game was very enjoyable, however if your not familiar with the controls or the dynamics of a premium vehicle like this you can be overwhelmed seeing as how the game doesn't hold your hand or walk you through as a beginner you could be overwhelmed like I was as a rookie to the genre. Even so the game was brilliantly designed in my opinion, and for fans of racing fans it's safe to estimate this is a must have for your Xbox One library.

Sim racing fans clamored for years for a serious console racing sim. They have finally had their wish granted. Assetto Corsa Competizione instantly becomes the premiere realistic console racing simulation game despite the hardware limitations of the current-gen. That doesn’t make it the best console racer, just the most realistic. The road ahead looks bright too with planned cross-platform support and future DLC which will also include an expansion of the racing scope with the release of GT4 cars coming this fall.

All in all, 505 Games and KUNOS Simulazioni have a great simulator for wheel users. It provides excellent feedback and is the way the play, if you’ve the right set up. Controller users can still find enjoyment if they take the time to tweak settings, but they will definitely miss out to a degree. Those less experienced with racing games should probably be wary of jumping in here too, as the sim style of racing could be a turn off until they “git gud”, as they say.

Nethertheless you dont get this full package in any other game, at the cost of framerates. Either you sacrifice, sound, videlity and weather effects, like GT Sport or detailed modells and physics like Forza or you get an arcade racer like Grid. If you love physics, details, weather, graphics and realism, it's ACC!

All of this puts me in a difficult spot with Assetto Corsa Competizione. On the one hand, it’s my favourite racing experience, hands down. It just handles beautifully. They admitted that on their forums.This sim is awful, Kunos have admitted that it can't be fixed in future due to the limitations of the engine and I have to say that despite the better FFB and laser scanned tracks, this is a step (or 10) backwards from the original AC.We're now many patches in and all they've done is add more and more bugs.Avoid it.

Without having to pay for iRacing or rFactor, Assetto Corsa Competizione is as real as it gets when getting behind the wheel. Players just need to have the proper setup to make the most of it. The Blancpain GT Series sponsorship is both a blessing and a curse. The cars and tracks from the series are all here and offer a solid variety, but that’s all you get. The content in the game is bare bones even though being able to do a 24-hour race or a Sprint Race is nice. Competizione is all about the racing and that is what it does best. The car visuals, and more importantly the audio, provides the closest thing to being on a track.

Daylight and solo time trials are fine (@ 60fps 1440p on a i7 7700 cpu / gtx 1070) but add in 16 plus AI cars, night conditions and rain, it all comes to a stand still.I primarily drive with a Rift and the same performance issues arise, great solo driving experience, add AI and I get a few corners that slow down, add any rain/night effects and it is simply unplayable.The career is very narrow (compared to Project Cars 2) but functions fine in this category specific title. Car numbers should never be a factor since you know what you get in racing titles: either 600 cars that all feel the same or 10 cars that are full of character. This title is clearly the later and portrays them all very well, great job Kunos!VR is the real sticky point (drops my review from an 8 to a 6)... VR UI is absolutely useless, clipping through the body work of my car, can't read anything. No real integration for typing (enter your driver name is the most dreaded activity: take off Rift, no UI on my PC monitor so type on keyboard, put on Rift, check name correct, take off, press TAB on keyboard to go to next text field, type, put on Rift, check OK, take off rift... etc) absolute nightmare! You might as well start career without VR and then restart game after first races in VR.VR performance is really an issue, reducing the settings changes NOTHING to how bad the VR performance is.Yet I love the feel and will go around and round the solo tracks in daylight for hours until they fix the performance in race / night / rain... or I get a Titan RTX with I9 CPU for a mere 3000$ just to play the full game.Hope this helps, especially anyone willing to play this with low / mid end PC with VR... forget it!
