But Cyber Shadow doesnt play with that too much, so in a core that still kinda straight platformer gameCS also have some valuable flaws that make gameplay worse that it can be:First of all - SP system, that literally blocks most of gameplay features, makes you feel uncomfortable by using themAlso during all game you will be struggling with lack of control on character. He cannot sit, cannot change direction of attacks, but some enemy designed in a way as if that mechanics IN a game. That so strangeIn conclusion, CS can bring you a some fun experience if youre a fan of genre, but its totally not a best representative of retro platformers

Cyber Shadow is a solid retro throwback with a few things that drag it down. The feeling of becoming more powerful and being able to take down huge enemy threats with your wits and skills is very rewarding, and the levels when you can use your abilities more freely to overcome challenges are quite fun. It's the trial-and-error areas littered with cheap deaths, demanding exact precision over long and frustrating stretches, that hamper the experience. Still, if you're looking for an old-school-styled ninja game that will test your skills (and sometimes your patience), Cyber Shadow is a worthy contender.

Should you be in the market for a retro-styled ninja game, Cyber Shadow on Xbox is quite possibly the game for you. It plays well, it sounds good, and aside from an odd use of powers and damage from knockbacks, there’s not an awful lot missing - just be aware that your controller may come out the other side with more teeth marks in it than when you began.

A stern challenge is a given. The real question is it worth the time to learn and i really think it is.While I did sigh a few times in frustration I mostly loved it; the great visuals, tight controls and exceptional music kept me wanting to boot up the game time and again.However, I do think the game becomes FAR more enjoyable when the player finally gets their full ensemble of abilities.

I am not one of these people, but thanks to the game's cool sci-fi theme, incredible soundtrack and tight controls I feel it helps me perservere through muscle memory and simple trial and error. Along with the Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon series, this is another must-have for retro gamers. It's somewhat an addicting challenge, although I do wish it had the same amount of accessability options that Bloodstained offers for newer (and younger) players.

Just as with Shovel Knight, the other game published by Yacht Club Games, Cyber Shadow is a true homage to classic NES games, in particular to the Ninja Gaiden trilogy. It has all the elements that we remember fondly from those years, such as a retro sound and looks, but it complements them with modern gameplay mechanics. If we take off some of its visual effects and its resolution, I do see myself playing it in a classic 8-bit console. You only need the directional pad and two buttons to play it.

Cyber Shadow probably won’t shine as much as Shovel Knight, lacking as it is of a little bit of genius and suffering from some control shortfalls, but it’s still an excellent retro platerformer that’ll teach you the pleasure of pain.

The bosses and character models are great too although the stages feel a bit generic at times.The combat is enjoyable, the boss fights in particular but mobility feels limited. As you progress you unlock new abilities which make traversal easier but i feel like platforming in particular is a bit of a nightmare at times.The main issue this game has is its trial and error nature. There's roughly 4 hours of content here but due to the high difficulty and the spacing between checkpoints most people will put double into it. It can be fun replaying sequences again and again to master them. Katana zero did this very well. Personally I found tricky enemy placement and weak platforming made the experience very frustrating at times.I'm currently about 70% of the way through and the overall experience is good but there are moments when I feel like I hate this game. It never feels like a fast pace ninja adventure. I end up moving incredibly carefully because it seems like the only way to make it to the next checkpoint. If I rush I might trip a security laser and get swarmed by enemies for example.Even some of the fun sections like the motorbike part felt trial and error. I had very high hopes for this being one of the standout indie titles of 2021 but it doesn't seem overly memorable. It's a real shame since the story and world are quite cool.

If you’re in the mood for some retro-infused 2D ninja action, Cyber Shadow is highly recommended. It’s a really enjoyable experience, with an absolutely fantastic soundtrack, and certainly worth checking out on any available platform.

Cyber Shadow keeps its promise without question. This tribute to Ninja Gaiden draws on period games to give us a fun and exhilarating platform / action game. Bosses all over the place, an agile hero and a pretty tough challenge, that's exactly what we hoped for. While it will surprise players less than a Shovel Knight or The Messenger, who went further in their ambitions, it remains a good experience for fans of the genre.

Cyber Shadow by Mechanical Head Games is an 8-Bit masterpiece entangled in a beautiful, dystopian world of ninjas action and deadly automatons.

Cyber Shadow's excellent gameplay, level design, variety, and music make it a great modernization of the classic Ninja Gaiden formula.

With perfect controls, epic boss fights and a banging soundtrack, Cyber Shadow is a superb action platformer that you don't want to miss.

Though it can get more than a bit challenging at times, I’d heartily recommend this to any fan of the classics. Even if you don’t appreciate NES games of yore, this is still a tremendous adventure full of mystery and danger. Kudos to Mechanical Head Games on developing Cyber Shadow, and many thanks to Yacht Club for helping it reach its full potential.

On top of that, the length and replayability options give players a healthy serving of content tosing more time into refining their skills. If you are up for a humblingly difficult but intensely fun 2D side scroller Cyber Shadow just maybe the challenge you’re looking for.
