Not only do I feel robbed of my money but they took a good game and shat all over it. It's a shame but I doubt I'll ever spend money on Destiny every again. Jupiter’s icy moon of Europa failed to make a good first impression on me, but the longer I played, the more I enjoyed the new map. I do not miss Mars or Mercury anymore. Returning players may not be happy about Bungie getting rid of some content and making a substantial part of old gear obsolete, but I understand the need to do some cleaning up before evolving the game. At its core Destiny 2 remains the same thing you loved (or hated) and its shooting mechanics are still among the best you can experience.

The Taken King was the last great thing to come out of Destiny (content wise). Forsaken was alright, cool lore additions, a good raid, and above all an interesting destination that kept me coming back for a time.This issue I have with Beyond Light is that it DESTROYS the lore building and first-time-player experience. So many Strikes, Raids, Crucible maps and more were removed and all that's left in it's place is a shamble of a DLC. Not to mention, the "vaulting" of WHOLE DESTINATIONS is quite possible the most destructive thing a developer can do to a MMORPG.Bungie, I'm not coming back. No matter how many haunted moons you promise, I know I'll just get let down again.

This expansion has been rather lacking the content added has been disappointing. the story is just another by the books Destiny story with a handful of uninteresting small boss fights before the big bad which in this case being Aramis which has yet again been a forgettable encounter.New loot hasn't done a good job of filling in the massive whole that sunsetting has created it only highlighted the lack of new loot introduced.PVP has been woefully thrown into chaos due to the new abilities being significantly better than the old and Trials of Osiris (PVP endgame) has been disabled since BL release due to issues brought on by Stasis and player exploitation which has only fuelled speculation that Bungie are reluctant or unwilling to put in the effort to balance out the state of PVP.Ultimately the expansion has done very little to improve the game and has so far only highlighted the deeper issues of the game.

One of Destiny 2’s best expansions thus far, providing an assured roadmap for the series to move into. It is just more Destiny though.

Even the most hardcore Destiny fans will probably find plenty to dislike here, and casual players should skip this without a second thought.

Are you crazy about Destiny lore and do you think Destiny 2 is fine as it is? Then Beyond Light will suit you just fine! Beyond Light is a very good content expansion that offers enough hours of gameplay and news to make it worthwhile for all players in the series. The doubt is in itself, from now on, it will be just as recommended for players who try to enter this experience for the first time.

All the people complaining about how their favorite gun being gone knows nothing about game design or balance. The game was getting too large and had too many op weapons. With this new dlc it gives the game life and hope for the future. The new raid guns are AMAZING and the new exotics are some of the best we have seen in a while. The new stasis subclass is great and is better now that they have released some patches . The removal of some guns has helped pvp quite a bit and I am starting to see new guns being used. If they don't change the system the game will get bland and boring. The steps Bungie has taken ensures that the game will get updates frequently and keep things balanced. The loot pool will get bigger over time we already have a pretty dissent loot pool as it is with lots of weapons feeling viable in end game content. The new raid is rewarding and challenging and some new content on Europa with a story that I am actually interested in makes this one of my favorite destiny dlcs of all time. Keep on crying about your weapons being gone and I will enjoy the game like a regular person. (PS all the salty people are warlocks don't listen to them)

While Destiny: Beyond Light on Xbox does axe more content than it adds, it is still worth playing through. The new world is an interesting place, and with a lot of post story content coming from Variks, the scope to have fun is large. A new Raid makes me happy indeed, and with new exotic quests and Hunts to take part in the future does appear to be bright.

Less is more, and Destiny 2: Beyond Light feels like a positive first step towards a new era for the franchise. New Stasis subclasses, a compelling storyline, and a gorgeous new planet to explore make for an intriguing new direction for Bungie’s cosmic sandbox.

Destiny 2 Beyond Light has turned the universe we know and love on its head by removing four major locations, five raids, outdated activities, and the sunsetting of weapons and gear. While the removal of content may seem negative, this is what the game needs to grow. Destiny 2 Beyond Light gives us a great story and an exciting new subclass with Stasis, and a huge new location in Europa. Bungie has made some hard choices to restructure Destiny 2 rather than restart the game completely with Destiny 3. What's on the horizon is something I truly cannot wait for, and I am excited to experience everything the game has to throw at me. While the Darkness is finally here, the future is bright for Destiny 2, and Beyond Light is only the tip of the iceberg.

I don't know what kind of Game Journalist playing skills these people must have (and believe me I'm no pro, just a casual guy) but I played through the entire thing in 6 hours while being below light by 10. I took my time, and didn't really rush through it, just tried to have fun. The story captivates you all the way through, not requiring you to know any deep lore to like it.Subclasses - Stasis is the newest damage type and subclass in Destiny's arsenal. Its incredibly accessible, and customizable. Very impressive and adds to the power fantasy of the game. that being said, they can be extremely annoying in PVP. And I mean INCREDIBLY annoying. However Bungie has already demonstrated that they tune things within a week of hearing community feedback.Gameplay - The Gameplay is always great. The Gunplay is always a 10/10, and the new weapons feel absolutely amazing. Furthermore Europa (the new destination) is incredible. Its a truly next gen-location. With dynamic weather and beautiful skyboxes and graphics. Really a fantastic location. To put it simply, the main bulk of the content added in Beyond Light is genuinely enjoyable, but there is no good reason why Bungie decided to cut out literally half the game on this expansions release. I just can not make sense of that. Either way, the expansion, and Destiny 2 in general, is worth a try if you have not played it. If you have Xbox Game Pass, Destiny 2 and its current expansions are all free, so you might as well dip your toe in the pool if you are subscribed to the Game Pass service.

Although it is easy to be blinded by frustration while thinking about this DLC, I will give an objective and detailed review of each aspect of this expansion.CONTENT: 2/10When Bungie announced the removal of 4 destinations due to the arrival of Beyond Light´s new destination; EUROPA i decided not to argue and just wait for new season release and check if it was worth it. Well the time has come and indeed it wasn´t worth it. Although EUROPA is a very beautiful and well designed map with cool dynamic weather mechanics, it doesn´t compensate the removal of so much content. The map is not that big, it only has three lost sectors and public events are the same from other planets except one. Regarding Bungie´s move to bring back the Cosmodrome, it was good for nostagia, but a lazy move in the end, it wasn´t even necessary to bring it back since the only mission from Beyond light that takes place there could be held in any other planet.Campaign is really short, just like 4 missions with grindy open world quets between them and only one new strike, NO new dungeon, NO new special public event like CONTACT (Season of arrivals) and new weapons quantity doesn´t compensate sunsetting dozens of previous years weapons. They´re really useful and fun to use but at the end it is another example of Bungie´s recent mediocrity trend. Crucible isn´t enjoyable anymore since almost all players will constantly get frozen during 70% of the match. Well cordinated squads can take this to a toxic level if all 6 players are using the stasis subclass. You will barely be able to move during the match.Current loot drop makes the game too much of a grind. Since there are a few activities that drop pinnacle gear, you will find yourself getting loot with the same power level for days. Even pinnacle gear drops give you roughly 1 or 2 point above your current power level, which makes your way to level 1260 a total nightmare. It almost feel like they are aware that game lacks content so just fill gameplay with hours of grinding.CONCLUSION:If you have Xbox Gamepass go ahead and play the expansion, otherwise please do yourself a favor and do not waste your money in this DLC. I've been playing Destiny since D1 and have completed all raids, reached legend in Comp, and have gone Flawless in Trials. I'm telling you so that you understand that I'm a veteran player and my opinion is based on having played D2 for 3 years.Good things: Europa is a gorgeous location, the new story campaign is interesting, and Gambit is now the shortest playlist activity. Some exotic drops are tied to solo Master difficulty Lost Sectors so you can get aspirational gear without a team. The new subclass customization is a good change. Great game IF you're new to it and you don't know what you're missing.Bad things: Besides the raid (maybe, since I haven't played it yet), the end-game is lacking, by a lot. The Empire Hunts are basically recycled Nightmare Hunts from Shadowkeep which were just recycled Barron Hunts from Forsaken. Most of the loot was sunset and next to nothing new was added to replace it. I have no idea why Bungie is charging people money to Shadowkeep and Forsaken since you can't get any relevant gear from those locations and no powerful drops to add to your light level at all. Buy those expansions if you want to play the story (I highly recommend Forsaken) The armor and weapon design is lazy. For example, the "new" sniper rifle Adored is exactly the same as a sunset rifle called Beloved... but with a sash over it. This will continue to be a problem since now every season will see gear being added and gear being sunset. The loot pool will not expand but will either stay the same or shrink. Most of the armor for this season is just a reskin of itself, as if we couldn't do that with shaders. The Stasis subclass is the worst thing to happen to Crucible. If you like being frozen and shot without being able to do anything, then yeah, jump in. It makes you want to keep away from other players which doesn't makes sense for an FPS. Lastly... the bugs. Everything is broken. Emotes don't work; Progression is blocked in some Strikes; Other strikes take your Super energy away; The new Subclass melts raid bosses; Exotics are being removed from the game temporarily because of an "issue"; Trials is pushed back by two weeks because of another "issue"; A Strike is temporarily removed for yet another "issue"; the list goes on and on....Destiny is a GREAT game but it isn't going in the great direction for veteran players.

But each and everyone of them feel amazing and have plenty of new talent and roles to hunt down. Most weapons that have been sunset are still usable in pvp.I find myself always having something to do, the rhythm of unlocks feels fair and well researched.The new subclass are such a breath of fresh air and take time to fully unlock.The art direction sets up a brilliant ambiance.

I understand why some things were vaulted yet I don’t understand the backlash of lack of content. It’s only been a few days so they don’t have a reason to complain. I ALSO understand that they haven’t had the most resources from home due to Covid-19 yet they still made more content than Shadowkeep. The game is still fun and it always has been my go-to FPS. This release I feel has been a good step in the right direction and it gives me hope to see Bungie return as a leading game developer.

I played through the campaign for new players, this takes place on The Cosmodrome. The experience for new players has improved by a lot. It's a lot less confusing than before, they did a great job on the game design here. This is the time for new players to jump in and experience D2.The average player that doesn't rush through the missions should take about 5-6 hours to get through the main campaign. This might seem a bit short, but there's plenty of stuff to do afterwards (hunting exotics, hunting stasis customization items, and more)Environments are stunning, new enemy types, ~10 new exotics, new subclasses/abilities, new ways to customize subclasses, dynamic weather and much more. I tried out the supers on Warlock and Titan, and they are very unique and a lot of fun. Although it seems like they do not have a lot of depth at first, later you can unlock ways to customize your stasis subclass. The way to customize stasis is superior to how the original subclasses are customized, there's a lot more freedom.Its too early to talk about endgame, since the raid will come out in a bit more than 1 week. But it's looking very promising so far. There's also lots of stuff on the roadmap planned, so we haven't seen everything this expansion has to offer just yet. Definitely recommend picking this dlc up.
