FF7R is a fantastic reimaging of the iconic title. Refusing to classify itself as a nostalgia act, it expands upon the original narrative in new and exciting ways. The combat system has a seamless fluidity to it, allowing for engaging and entertaining gameplay sequences. Artistically, FF7R retains the level of quality players have come to expect from Square Enix, but it does falter ever so slightly in some environments. The updated rendition of the classic OST is outstanding from start to finish, with the sound design team matching it in every regard.

The PC version brings all that was great about the original, plus some additional technical problems we did not expect to see after an excellent Final Fantasy XV PC port. Even though many of these problems can be easily fixed if you know how to google and are not afraid of mods, the lack of graphical upgrades and options still disappoints those who expected something more. But all of this still can’t be enough to diminish the final verdict, and this game remains to be an amazing title no one should miss, no matter which platform you choose to play it on.

Yes, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is still that excellent game that amazed us in its console launch, but we expected far more from the PC version. It's maddening really, that with all the technological advancement it doesn't look better. This is not the port that consumers deserve, but the one that Square Enix could deliver.

However, it is not perfect, not the perfect Japanese's way of intricacies. For example, if one of member has fallen (unconscious), but he/she will be conscious for the midway cut-scene!As for the porting, impression to me is, it is comparative to Dark Souls' PC port back in 2012, a low budget and rush job. First launch of the game: the mouse cursor disappear, this really gave me a dejavu of 2012's Dark Souls PC version.As I proceed on to play with the game, every settings max on my new RTX3060 laptop (6GB VRAM). There were some stutters, but quite surprisingly the framerate still maintain@120fps. However, I also notice textures look flat, jagged or blurry edges on my 27 inch 1440p monitor. After some research, realize it is due to Dynamic Resolution. First thing came to my mind is, Marketing Lies! Lying about: system's specs. With the recommended specs, my laptop clearly "overpower" (except for VRAM, I will come to this next), of course the settings are maxed out : [email protected] hours of tweaking and help from modding community, realized 8GB VRAM is essential for the game to run on DirectX12. With my 6GB VRAM, and plus helps from mods, finally I can play the game with 95% framerate stability at 1440p (consistent) @60fps via DirectX11, Shadow set to low without HDR. Yes, shadow set to high will exceed 6GB VRAM and thus cause stuttering. And with DirectX11, VRAM required by Texture's setting to high still maintain within range.To conclude, -1 pts for marketing lies (system specs); -1 pts for lack of UI settings (DirectX option, graphic details option, etc.); -1 pts for lack of VRAM optimization for DirectX12; -1 pts for depending on external parties (mod communities) to fix prior mentioned issues; -1 pts to charge at the price of a complete AAA game, which is obviously not, based on my 30 years of PC gaming's experience.

I have played this Version over 5 hours and i can tell you it's playable and i'm having fun and that's literally all i was asking for. No i don't have low standards, this version is literally better than PS4 version, how do i know that? Well because i have the PS4 version, that's how. Mouse and Keyboard + 60fps make huge difference and it also looks visually better, so yeah. I never expected it to have raytracing or all this other nonsense.

Square Enix did an amazing job with the port of FF7 Remake on PC. The game runs like a dream and can exceed the console versions in terms of visuals and performance, with a beefy PC. The keyboard controls are functional, but the game was originally designed with a controller in mind, so there's only so much that can be done in this regard. FF7 Remake on PC is the total package in terms of content and performance, and the people who have waited patiently for the game can be assured that the PC version is a high-quality offering, with a more complete version of the story than what was available in the PS4 version at launch.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is the definitive version of one of the best games ever made, and the inclusion of a new story chapter makes it that much more worthy of the title. In 2029, when the second half of the remake finally comes out, Square Enix will have (hopefully) figured out how to incorporate the DualSense 5 controller a little better, but by then, we might be talking about the DualSense 6, and the game will be uploaded to and played solely within our minds, so it may not matter anyway.

It is a pleasant surprise to find in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade a game that takes advantage of the new generation of consoles, in this case, the PS5. The game loads amazingly fast, both the performance and the graphics options look flawless and the Yuffie expansion is an entertaining addition to the product.

Final Fantasy VII Remake, only a year old, gets a next-gen remake, and the results are visually stunning. The new Yuffie-based Intermission chapter is a ton of fun, and its lighter tone demonstrates ways that the Remake saga can move away from the sullen tone of the first game. Bouncy and full of life, Yuffie brings some much needed levity to the proceedings, shining a new light on the game as a whole.

Overall, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is a solid package. It's not quite worth buying at full price if you've already played the original, but the upgraded original game and the DLC combine to create an excellent experience. Remake still holds up as a really fun game a year later, and Yuffie's side story shows that the developers still have plenty of ideas on how to keep the combat fresh for a sequel. If this is your first time playing Final Fantasy VII Remake, then Intergrade is absolutely the version to get.

INTERmission is a classy addition to one of last year’s best games, which itself runs a little better now on PS5. It’s great to see Yuffie again, brought up-to-date to match the rest of the cast and providing her uniquely wide-eyed perspective on Midgar. We’re ready to move on from the great city now, but this is a fine farewell party.

Intergrade not only reintroduces a fan-favorite character ahead of her fated meeting with Cloud, Tifa, Aeris, and Barrett, but it also lets us play with a few new mechanics and fleshes out a little more of the periphery of the main game’s narrative.

Final Fantasy VII Intergrade proves that Square Enix can make the most of its past to produce such a quality game that we can't wait to see the sequel.
