FA is a good story driven game. The story stands out with emotions. Not that it will surprise you in a big way but it is very well written.FA is a good story driven game. Most are easy and a couple of them don't make sens, especially that train in the beginning. The music is great. The voices are well done. The graphics are good but it's not the best anime drawing. There is a delay between the animation and the platforming which makes jumping a frustrating business at times. I give it a 78%. A very nice story.

Playing Forgotton Anne is sometimes like you're watching some nice anime 2D with a 3D feel all the time. Backgrounds and characters are a delight to watch.Voice acting is OK with Fig standing out (in a good way).The story got me hooked at first but...The dialogues got me hooked at first but... it was all until around 1/2 - 3/4 of the game. At this point everything was rather clear to me (storywise). The "last choice" was the thing I was waiting for finishing the game. I just got bored, but maybe it's just me ;)Music was nice for my girl to listen to doing other things (that is not playing this game with me) and she wants the soundtrack now :) . For me it was fitting the atmosphere well.Last thing - puzzles. It is like there are almost no puzzles. Only time I got "stuck" on a puzzle more than 10 minutes was when I haven't saw one peg that I could move.This game gives you moral choices which are nicely put into the story and are not so much "in your face". Some choices are vital while other doesn't matter and that's good. Of course "the last choice" is in your face all the way :P .What else can i write? I was hooked until 1/2 of this game, then it came out there are no real puzzles, until 3/4 of the game I got a little bored and last evening I was playing it just to finish it.Overall - game is made around creating a good anime story with moral choices. Puzzles are there to make you busy but not to make it harder.Platforming is also good but it's not the central point of this game - it's rather basic platforming.Oh, and my scale of evaluation (7/10) means that this is a good game. I recommend it.

Forgotton Anne is slow and clunky and a bit frustrating at times, but it has its heart in the right place when it comes to story, which challenges the player morally and concludes with a satisfying choice.

In all likelihood, we'll remember its delightful world for some time. In future years, we may even enjoy the few fuzzy memories of Forgotton Anne that linger. For now, however, they're tinged with disappointment.

Forgotton Anne is good at telling a story, and creating a new world filled with magical things. The hand-painted art style and the background music are remarkable, and the puzzle part has some strengths too. However, the handling feel of this game is not satisfactory enough, which kind of reminds me the original version of Prince of Persia.

With an engaging plot that's as much a commentary on consumerism as it is a tale of morality, Forgotton Anne's inspired narrative is backed up by some solid and engaging gameplay.

Overall, Forgotton Anne is a phenomenal addition to any gamers collection. From the character development to the beautiful hand-drawn art all the way through the game, it is evident that love went into this game. You'll see that from the beginning all the way to the end. Go out and buy this! I promise you, this will not be a game that will soon be forgotton.

I love a game that has a story that interests you from the get go but unfortunately if a game has a very good story then often or not theI love a game that has a story that interests you from the get go but unfortunately if a game has a very good story then often or not the gameplay tends to take a backseat or it ends up having quite a few problems littered throughout. Forgotton Anne though is one of them rare games that manages to do both aspects extremely well and in the end it delivered in almost all areas, which is great. Without a doubt the best thing about this game is its story. The story hooks you in straight away and it never lets you go throughout your time with the game because it stirs up a number of different emotions and you become attached to the characters quite a lot. Speaking about the characters each different one is interesting and unique, and the best thing is that they make the world that’s present in the game come alive in all areas. Another thing that makes the world come alive is the choices you have to make in the game. Each choice you have to make feels very important and by making each choice matter you become even more invested in the story and what’s taking place on the screen. In terms of the gameplay there are quite a few mechanics in play at the same time and for the most part they hold up really well. You would think that they would focus more on the story than the gameplay, but that’s not the case here because they’ve put an equal amount of effort in both and by doing this it makes the gameplay both challenging and rewarding at the same time. Whilst the gameplay is very good for the most part it does have a couple of niggling problems present from time to time. The main niggling problem is that the controls that have been implemented don’t always feel responsive and precise and this can cause you a few problems every now and then especially when you’re involved in some platforming events. You will also get a frustrated with a few puzzles in the game because some of them do overstay their welcome a little bit. I was however able to look past this because most of the puzzles are intersting and have quite a bit of variety going for them. One of my favourite things about this game was without a doubt the presentation. Visually the hand-drawn art style is packed full of charm and when you combine this with the excellent sound design and voice acting you end up becoming even more immersed in the game’s fantastic story. At the end of the day I can’t recommend Forgotton Anne enough. It’s managed to combine a number of different elements together extremely well and when these elements are in full flow you end up having an adventure that stays with you long after you’ve completed the game.

While it delivers on the selling point of the beautiful hand-drawn anime art style, it backs it up with fantastic story and engaging gameplay. This is truly something special we have here, something that must be explored by anyone who can get their hands on the game.

A game that knows its roots but is willing to try something new as well. It takes the darker aspects of Spirited Away — because, let’s be honest, it’s kind of terrifying to see your parents transform into animals and then find yourself whisked away to another world with no way home — and explores them. And it does so with a lot of style.

Forgotton Anne is a lovely looking game, with the constantly moving art really impressing as you advance on the adventure, creating a world full of interesting characters. The story starts slow but comes into its own as you delve deeper, with sadness, humour and joyful moments all part of the experience lasting over six hours. Capping it off is a beautiful orchestral soundtrack that is often relaxing and never feels out of place.
