Racing is hard due to color pallet and 30fps, thewill often be crash causeing cement blocks whete you cant see them and un avoidable head on traffic.. Difficuly is also badly ballanced going from easy to actually imposible, even with a 1200 hp car.

In my opinion, running on an average ADSL line, it's the best Need For Speed yet! I have played about 4 hours now and have no issues with latency or connectivity. This is true to it's roots Need For Speed. I'm running the graphics on Ultra and it looks and sounds amazing. Gameplay is very smooth and there is no frame loss on a my new gen card. Vehicle customization is epic and the best it's ever been, especially the performance upgrades. Don't expect big damage when you slam into obstacles because it's not a sim. Loading times are a little long but all in all a solid arcade style racer.

After Need for Speed Undercover the core NFS-games seemed to have become lost glory. This new Need for Speed however marks the return of those core Need for Speed elements and shows that the voice of the fans really is heard by the developers.

Ghost Games used those four months since the initial console release well: Need for Speed runs very slick on modern PCs and looks stunning. The low difficulty is a major flaw though.

Long story short, Forza’s customization is more professional but harder to use, while Need For Speed’s customization lacks in areas and it more suitable for people with less knowledge on cars.

Looks gorgeous, rewards driving out of your comfort zone, has pleasing physics and sense of velocity... but needlessly online-only, pumped full of irritating live-action pap, and runs out of fuel early.

Need For Speed is definitely a step in the right direction for the series, at least. With genuinely intelligent AI and the removal of rubber banding, as well as a cleaner lens, the next game from Ghost could well restore Need For Speed to its former glory. At the moment however, it is still unable to catch up to a game released two generations ago.

Need For Speed this game gave me mixed feelings for various reasons so lets get in to this review i'll start with the positives i love the fact you can now tune every aspect of your vehicle from the ride height to how stiff you want the handbrake and even put camber on the wheels although you do have to level up earning rep from various styles of play to unlock all these options this makes a pleasant change from slapping a decal on a car and getting right in to itThe graphics are another positive the car models look fantastic the view of the city is stunning as well even though its nearly always at night but i'll tackle the day and night cycle in further in to this reviewLive action cut scenes were a nice addition to the game although at times a little cheesy with random fist bumps and a heavy push of the monster energy drink brand but i definitely would not consider them a negativeOk so now the negatives to this game lets start with that day and night cycle its 90% night and raining occasionally day comes around and then it switches back to the night again pretty sharpish this can be rather annoyingThe AI still think this is demolition derby and not need for speed in certain events like drift races for example the tiniest bump or scratch makes you lose all your points and the AI especially in drift train events do not consider this and will write you off like you do not matterThen there is the good old fashioned need for speed perfectly timed cars and trucks appearing just at the right time when your doing 150+ MPH to write you off this can be frustrating especially in sprint eventsThere is also no offline option so you can't really pause this game which can be annoying as hell if your halfway through the race and you have to answer the door or have to pop out at an instant you either have to stick it out or crash basicallyThe city feels dead if you feel like you just want to cruise around the city there really isn't any traffic anywhere apart from the odd truck and lonely car where is everybody !!!Last but not least the police are pretty non existent i know the aim was to tone it down but its so hard to find the police anywhere especially if your trying to do the outlaw challenges you have to drive around forever find a police car then nudge it to get it to chase you then you have to proceed to do 40MPH until it calls for backup just in case you lose it especially in faster top end cars

It was THE racing game I was waiting for since EA released the first trailer of Need for Speed. It felt like eternity until I could hold the game in my hands. The day I got it I had to play until my eyes burned. After hours of playing I still wasn't sure what to think about the game. The more I played it, the more I got demotivated. The story is ok, but nothing you really need. The phone calls are so disturbing that I already wanted to mute my tv. Who the hell gets hundreds of calls within a few hours? The next thing that wasn't really necessary was the "no you cannot pause the game. period!" Why the heck can we not just pause the game? Lets move on. What did the developers have in mind when they created the AI? The AI is the most frustrating thing in the game. You can drive like a hero but you will lose! The NPC driver crash the whole time, drive unfair (and I thought that the kiddies in Driveclub are the worst). I got so frustrated while drift train that I almost destroyed my controller. Why do the NPCs drive so slow and as soon as you are a little bit faster they overtake and kick you out that you have no chance to get back to them. This happens the whole time to me. This game still needs a lot of optimization and a mass of patches. I'm so disappointed, frustrated and sad because Need for Speed could have been a hell of a game.

Need for Speed returns with a title that lacks innovation and content, but it still is very fun and engaging. Also, if you've missed tuning your cars, you'll love this episode.

A worthy successor to the both Underground games doesn’t reach their quality though. Arcade riding feels fresh and if you are up to an easy fun you have just arrived to your destination.

Ghost Games is onto something seriously promising with this franchise reboot. However, being unable to pause the game as well as no option to play offline may prove two obstacles that are not surmountable for some players.

Need for Speed is not a horrible game, but it is definitely not the amazing ‘reboot’ experience I was looking for. Its biggest detractors are the repetitive gameplay, the graphics engine hanging up or stalling at some very inopportune times, and the ‘less than robust’ online modes.

There are so many glaring flaws right up front; the framerate bottoms out, the story characters forced upon the players are atrocious and the always online requirement simply eats up bandwidth while adding nothing to the experience. When it hits that perfect line, however, this manages to be a satisfying and beautiful experience.

A gorgeous-looking, very well designed game that offers five different racing styles to tackle - and a bevy of interesting cars to modify and make your own. Its story is a lot of fun, and it's set in an impressively large environment that is very enjoyable to drive around. A great arcade racer that's both challenging and addictive.
