The game videos were definitely there!The cut-scenes were scary and atmospheric.The graphics were quite alright, but the controls were not really.There was 1 aspect of the game that made the gameplay really difficult if not gamebreaking.When I played it first time, I choosed certain path in the mansion and I did not understand why the game is so difficult.I read a playthrough where the writer provided a different path which led me to different scripts and weapons in the same mansion. Quite bullsh*t coding, I must say. I mean if I go to a house, the same objects are in the house no matter through which door I choose to go in, right?So if you plan to play this game, first, read a proper walkthrough.In summary: I enjoyed this, it was maybe the first horror game I ever played. Could have been better experience on console.

Other than that Resident Evil 1 Remake is basically the pinnacle of survival horror. Can't wait to play it again as Chris.

Resident Evil is most certainly a game that belongs back in the 90s. With any portable console game developers need to take battery life into account, and they haven't. Ink ribbons are hard to come by, so using one to save 30 minutes progress while on a train or having a longer play session, seeing your red battery light come on and having no ink ribbons or a typewriter to save is simply unforgivable. This will always be a "classic" and will be alot of people's first ever memory of the survival horror genre, but you want to battle against the games puzzles and enemies, not the controls or inventory management. You can't even drop items.For dienhard fans of the original only. And even then, you might wonder why you even enjoyed it.

Resident Evil is a rare commodity in several ways. First, it is one of the few titles that can jump from a console to the PC and back with no loss of quality or experience. Second, it a game that can be picked up three years after its release and still have the same impact it did on day one. Finally, very few games can claim to have spawned a genre. Resident Evil can make this claim, as well as the unique claim of near perfection on the first try.

In the end, Resident Evil is a rare gem that has not only been able to make the jump from a video game to a computer game nearly flawlessly but has done so almost two years after it was originally released. Console gamers may want to check out Resident Evil on the PC - it is the only true uncut version of the game, featuring scenes not even in the recently released Resident Evil Directors Cut. If you aren't too squeamish, you should definitely give Resident Evil on the PC a look.

If you’ve ever played Resident Evil in any of its incarnations in the 23 years since its original release, you’ll know exactly what to expect: one of the most genuinely unnerving games the industry has ever produced. Having the game in portable form is just extra icing on the cake.

There’s no denying this is a great remake of the PlayStation classic, however, it’s also one where you can feel its limitations and archaic systems creaking along. Going back to the original ways of Resident Evil is a little awkward, sure, but it’s still an enjoyable survival horror experience and one dripping in atmosphere.

Rebought this again because always loved this game on the Gamecube. Just as scary as ever!The game is looking cleaner than ever and such a great title on the go when you've got a spare 40 minutes on a train (though that amout only just feels justifed enough to use an ink ribbon lol)My only gripe is that this should of had a pysical release as an option as I would of felt more comfy paying £29.99 for a cartridge than a digital version.This game is for the horror fans and the controls though dated actually add to the experience to make it scarier. A must have on any system. Well done Capcom as usual.

After the amazing 2002 remake, Capcom, this time, delivers a very conventional HD version. But if there’s still somewhere, some players who haven’t played it yet, this could be the right time to give it a try.

A fantastic game after years, Switch can finally be proud of a good port, capable of recreating all the atmosphere and magic of the father of the survival horror genre.

This is just a great version of one of the best remakes in the history of video games. It holds up incredibly well, and it’s one of those games everyone should play at least once.

Resident Evil on Switch is a familiar experience with some excellent gameplay that can be enjoyed in handheld mode. The few flaws it has shouldn’t detract, but the price might.

The return of Resident Evil to Nintendo platforms should come with inherent celebration. Gaming’s first realization into true survival horror is timeless thanks to the technical enhancements of this HD remaster. The game remains as tense and foreboding as it did when it first released. This experience still stands unparalleled to many titles currently releasing on the Nintendo Switch. It’s impressive how flawlessly Capcom managed to get it running. However, it’s also unreasonably more expensive on the Nintendo Switch when compared to the same game on other consoles. Despite this, it’s still a near-perfect horror game which is required reading for those who have yet to play it.
