The RE engine always looks and runs great, which is why it was so disappointing that Village initially had problems with stuttering.I finished the game in around 12 hours and I didn't explore 100%, so it's not as short as some people would have you believe.

Just finished my first playthrough and the story is excellent, atmosphere is just as good and a decent length.. Decent customization options available for the weapons and ammo is easily crafted (at least for the standard pistols) before it starts requiring chem fluids which are not craftable. Would highly recommend. Excellent twist in the last section. No spoilers

It makes it feel more like a action adventure than a old school horror resident evil game but some parts had that spookiness which kinda made it better. I didn’t like the last dungeon which was kinda tedious and easy to get lost. I really liked how the puzzles were easier than in 7. In resi 7 I would get lost too many times without a using a walkthroughs , in this I didn’t need a walkthrough that much which is a plus because it effects the pacing. Anyways I absolutely still enjoyed this game a lot. Not perfect game but definitely worth getting.

Resident Evil Village is a fantastic addition to Ethan Winters series. Taking elements of past Resident Evil's and combining them with theResident Evil Village is a fantastic addition to Ethan Winters series. Taking elements of past Resident Evil's and combining them with the First Person genre, super effective with its non-stop action and terrifying scares.A change of pace from the last game, with more emphasis on combat than before. Strangely enough, there is a tone of exploration to be had as well as heaps of replayability. A cast of some of the series most memorable characters, combined with a twist and turns that will grip you through the whole game. Gorgeous visuals, perfect sound design and highly enjoyable puzzles, combat and story. So close to being perfect but there are some issues with the game seeming to be cut down in some areas and Lady Dimitrescu being used far too early. While not without faults and with a strangely out of character last section, Resident Evil Village is simply one of the finest moments for the series, mixing together a wonderfully dark atmosphere with tense action and sweet morsels of horror and despair.

Overall, there’s a lot to like about Resident Evil Village. The story and characters are great, most of the scenarios are fantastic fun to play, and when it hits best it rivals the top tier of the franchise. It’s a little too action heavy for my tastes, but even so that action is generally a lot of fun. Is it the best in the series? No. Is it still bloody good? One hundred percent. I’m cautiously excited to see where we go from here, and am already looking forward to a second playthrough.

Overall, RE Village is a fantastic RE game with some minor flaws here and there. It takes just about everything from RE7 and makes it better. RE Village loses much of the horror in RE7, but it makes up for it with everything else. I really feel it’s impossible to not like this game more than RE7 and this is coming from a person that greatly enjoyed the horror aspect of RE7. I was a complete naysayer once I saw that RE Village had more of an action approach and was proven wrong by the end of the game. Resident Evil Village is really good and is a definite pickup if you’re an RE fan.

This is the one of the best RE games, its up there with RE4, 2Remake. RE8 blows RE7 outta the water. The combat is less clunky and more tight, tons of enemy variety. In the end, Resident Evil Village is not a perfect experience but it is still an awesome one and easily the best of the recent games in the series. It's scary, suspenseful, grounded in relatable human drama, and an overall blast to play; I highly recommend giving it a shot.
