I ragazzi di Sloclap hanno veramente creato un gioco validissimo sulla cultura del Kung Fu. Mille tecniche da padroneggiare, collezionabili e con una rigiocabilità altissima. Sifu è la rappresentazione perfetta dell’amore dei suoi creatori per i film degli anni ’80 sul Kung Fu. I personaggi sono ben caratterizzati e i boss di fine livello vi faranno sclerare come non mai. Il motore grafico è eccellente per il suo genere.

A wonderful fighting game that is very challenging and, in return, very satisfying when the fighting system is understood. Sifu brings together several interesting elements and that works out well. All this wrapped up in a nice artistic style with matching audio makes it a delight. But it does if you look past the poor voice-acting and the generic story. Not really points to worry about if you go purely by the excellent gameplay.

The best beat map in my life. The combat system and animations just amazed me with their sophistication. It was like being in a Hong Kong action movie. Cut scenes in the best traditions of cinema. Pleased with numerous references to films, situations and techniques of hand-to-hand combat from them. I liked the art style, as well as the locations worked out to the smallest detail. Trampled snow is simply gorgeous. And even the character's voice and utterances change with age. I really like to walk and look at the details on the levels. Looking at them, you begin to imagine how the inhabitants of the level of their life and daily routine live. Here is a guard at the entrance to the club, and next to him is a table with laid out cards and the game is clearly not finished. Most likely, the partner in the game went to the toilet or for cigarettes. Or the gymnastics coach we fought. He had a gym bag and water bottles next to him. I just imagined how she periodically drank water from them because of the heat and to wet her throat while talking to her audience of students, and then with a bag she goes to change. This game is insanely difficult with punishing death mechanics. The difficulty spikes are quite something, I feel that the combat could be so much better if given prompts on what type of dodge needs to be performed, as it is now. The combat feels very unfair with little reward, the parrying is essential but when performed properly has almost no visual/audio cue, making it feel very insignificant. Game has potential, but in its current state the combat is way too unfair to feel fun like other games.

The Beginning of Sifu you will feel like you are the best and cannot be takin down like you are the actual boss of the game but then the real gameplay begins the game will no more take full focus on the story but the gameplay is amazing you will be the one who is takin down now you will no longer be the boss but then as you get better you will be the badass you were on the first mission it's really amazing I give a nine just because the game is a bit hard and you need to practice some moves and learn the moves of every boss to actually beat them other then that great game

Sifu is a brutal, and desperate fight from the first brawl to the final duel. But something perhaps more important than all of that. Sifu is bloody good fun. It’s difficult, but extremely rewarding and satisfying. I struggle to find much I don’t like. It’s only detriment, if you could even call it that, is that some people may be scared away by the challenge it presents.

There are however issues (rather things I don’t like / enjoy) that made me go for and 8 and not a 9, and that are stopping me to go for the platinum (something I go for only when a game is flawless). Here’s my list of negatives:I really enjoy hard bosses, the harder the better if it’s a fair fight, but I hate when I have to repeat a stage to get to the boss again if I lose the battle. It completely change the way I play against the bosses: since I don’t want to repeat the level again, you do not experiment with moves, I play as safe as possible using cheap tactics and it’s just not fun as it could be. I had much more frustration with this game than with Sekiro’s last boss. 2. Too many punch moves and too few kicks. Combat in general is absolutely spectacular but i find all type of kicks to be the most enjoyable kind of attacks in games (I played Shenmue 1-2 over and over using just kicks). Sifu unfortunately lacks in both quality and quantity regarding kicks. Despite these - personal - flaws, overall Sifu is really a unique game with no alternatives on the market. Good job guys

A spiritual relative to Fighting Force, Tekken Force, Sleeping Dogs, and Batman Arkham in regards to combat. Have fun learning defense and timing! :)

An immensely stylish ode to kung-fu – challenging, well done, fun. It’s a bit short and the difficulty is all over the place, but you still should absolutely play it.

Sifu on paper looks like a short title, with it’s five stages you would think it will be a short weekend experience and you will be done. However, it is so packed with content that even though you think you’ve mastered a level, a discovery at a later stage will force you back to an earlier stage. It’s varied arsenal will have you constantly replaying certain sections just to see how different a score you can get (such as the hallway fight in the first level which encapsulates the feeling of a certain fight scene from the movie Old Boy). I read somewhere that the devs wanted action sequences to feel like a Jackie Chan movie, and given what I’ve seen they’ve definitely nailed it. Although most players’ experiences will at first look like the credits of a Jackie Chan movie, through persistence and patience, their encounters will start to look like the final cut of the film.

SIFU is very realistic beat-’em-up-game from Sloclap, the dev’s from the action RPG Absolver, which already included different martial-art fights. They worked together with Kong Fu Master Benjamin Colussi to make the fights in SIFU as realistic as possible. The skill level required to beat this game is very high and you need to be patient and consistent to progress. Epic finisher moves, great story, nice music, but not a game for casual gamers.

Like Master Onion himself, Sifu has layers - and the closer you get to its centre, the more you understand its own structure, what makes it and its many obstacles tick. The closer you get to it, the clearer the details between the deckings. And just like a peeled onion, it might well make you cry. There’s no shame in that, here - but you’d best accept up front that it’s not going to get any easier, or sting any less, the more you slice into it.

The wall has grown a smug, laughing face as it prepares to take away one of your character's most important abilities, just in time for the final boss battle.

SIFU is a vibrant and powerful tribute to the martial arts. Sloclap undoubtedly masters its subject and the genre in which the title fits. In just two games, the Parisian studios demonstrate their know-how in the field, and in fact become recognized artisans of the video game fight. This Beat'em All hits hard and with conviction, and perpetuates this noble art of kicking and kicking in a demanding and inspired quest for revenge. The title of Sloclap, due to its raised difficulty, is intended for tenacious, even relentless players, and could discourage more than one, but learning martial arts requires self-sacrifice and self-control… like SIFU.

With Sifu, developer Sloclap has delivered one of the most striking and original roguelikes we’ve ever had the pleasure of playing. Like the process of actually learning a martial art, this is a game that requires practice and patience – and the rewards speak for themselves.

Sifu will likely ignite the difficulty debate once again, and it's certainly a shame that more people won't get to experience the game because of the barrier for entry. There's design and mechanical justification for having such a steep learning curve, though, and it's part of what makes Sifu so compelling. Your journey from student to master is thrilling, mainly because it's governed by your own improving skill level rather than traditional character progression. There are memorable moments that stand out throughout, such as the boss fights and an enjoyable recreation of the iconic hallway scene from Oldboy, but it's Sifu's combat that shines through most brightly. For as unique and interesting as its aging mechanic is, it wouldn't work without the combat carrying the load and ensuring that each replay is just as engaging as the last. Is one life enough to know kung fu? Maybe not. But I would happily spend mine playing Sifu to find out.

Sifu is a game that I wanted to love. I had high hopes for it being one of my game of the year contenders, but it left me feeling intensely deflated instead. It's a game that confuses the precise mechanical difficulty of Sekiro with a forced difficulty brought on by simply giving bosses armour. I find myself irrationally angry with Sifu. Sifu is a game that had exceptional potential, but squandered it on the wrong lessons.

An incredibly mastered Beat Them All game with tints of Metroidvania and Rogue-like elements making the players want to run cycles after cycles.
