Its graphics are still a bit rough, but even they are still improving with each update. It has an addicting gameplay loop and has a wonderful community backing it. It's a fun first person zombie survival game with base building and even some level of tower defense. It has a learning curve, but it's worth putting in the effort to get past it.

After a hard day at work, playing this game just brightens up my mind. Play it with friends and things get even more enticing. Just amazing game!

They don’t update it at all anymore. The survival, exploration and crafting system are pretty good. The worst part are the graphics and glitches. I lost 1/2 of my items because my chest was outside of the “place land block” region. The game never said what this block did, so I just randomly placed it down. Overall fun game, but glitches like that really kill the experience.

Now that the resources have been gathered and depleted it is almost impossible to reclaim what was lost (guns, minibikes, ammo and the chem and work stations). If that isn't bad enough, it will randomly kick the 2nd player or the host which kicks everyone. This game isn't worth the $30.00 paid for it.

This game is basically a realistic version of Minecraft with a less cryptic crafting method set in a world with more determined monsters. The game has a short learning curve and after a little time you become quite efficient at crafting and surviving. In single player mode the game is relatively stable and generally allows for many hours of continuous play before freezing or glitching out. However in multi-player we have noted a game session will only last about 1.5 hours before crashing. Each game crash proves to be a gamble on whether your crafted world will load properly again....as corrupted saves are all too common and the game likes to reset causing players to lose objects from storage boxes all the way up to complex built structures. Many a player has gone for a jaunt on the mini bike, experiences a game crash, and reloaded with no mini bike in site and many miles of walking back to their home base.If the developers can patch the crashing and improve the game stability I can see playing and enjoying the game. right now its a gamble and many players are getting frustrated and walking away.

Even three months and numerous patches after release, it’s clear that this project is nowhere near complete.Worse, the developers are clearly prioritizing the more successful PC version over this compromised port job. Console-owning fans of the survival genre may find something to enjoy in 7 Days To Die, but my advice is to steer clear all the same.

I am also very skeptical because I have played a little of Minecraft but not much it to be totally invested in it but this game just might appeal to my taste a lot better than Minecraft. Definitely going to try this game out this evening when I get home from work. Can't wait!!

My best advice is to ignore it for a year and come back with a few friends to give it a go.

With a user interface barely optimized for controllers and a release three years after its initial alpha, it feels that consoles are a mere afterthought of the original vision.

In all honestly, although it can be buggy at times, I've experienced fewer bugs in this game than I've experienced in AAA titles such as The Division.The reason I think this is such a good game, is that the fundamental experience in this game is just really exciting, for half the price of a AAA title it has surprising depth to it, and as a result it will take you a while to get the hang of. You are always being challenged and you have to adapt, things to mind range from temperature, bears, hunger and thirst, and of course zombies. This game just has a way to always keep you on your toes.At first look at the reviews and gameplay of this game I was hugely skeptical, but I liked the concept of the game and so took the plunge. 7 Days to Die is a horrible porting of a game that could be appreciable on PC. The good crafting and building system doesn't justify the horrible combat system, the bad animation and the old style graphic; there are also bugs everywhere. Maybe it could be good for you, but only if you are blind.

It's disappointing to see this sold on Xbox One and PS4 (with a retail release!) as if it is completed game. It clearly is not. After some substantial updates, I'd potentially want to give it another chance, but as is I wouldn't want to spend another minute with it.

By day 14 I could no longer ignore the fact that this game was more frustrating than fun. I couldn't defend myself on the highest game play level against zombies because of the ridiculous combat mechanic coupled with the game freezing momentarily each time I desperately needed a head shot -or -walking off a platform in my base straight into the horde below because the frame rate drops to 0 as I'm moving forward to line up a shot. Why even put the effort into digging trenches and building massive spike walls when most of the frantic zombies just glitch spin right over your defenses during horde attacks? The game has real potential but the execution is abysmal. This is half a game and was not ready for full release on console.

7 Days To Die is a retail release of an alpha build of an Early Access game, and a downright scummy thing for Telltale to market as a finished product.

Right now, 7 Days To Die is an extremely shoddy release on the PS4. Hardcore fans who love crafting and survival games may find a potential time sink here, but I find it hard to recommend this title to anyone else just looking for a game to occupy themselves with during this summer drought. Don’t Starve is available on PS4. Try that one instead.

What 7 Days to Die does right is provide a hearty selection of crafting and allows you to team up with friends locally or online to enjoy some co-op action. But is it worth picking up? For the simple fact that there’s better examples of world-building engines out there with a large fan base and even larger servers, I say pass.

7 Days to Die is a lo-fi, budget survival-horror sandbox that surprisingly breathes some new life into the tired zombie template. It’s a powerful example of how a game, even when executed without the technical wizardry of big AAA publishers, can become a canvas for your own personal stories. It’s arrestingly compelling and, in the right hands, infinitely replayable. It’s a diamond in the zombie-infested rough.

7 Days to Die tries hard to provide the same experience we had on PC, but it fails in its attempt due to the controller adaptation and the visible graphical downgrade.

Stiff and smooth animations just make it comical at times. A moment of screen stutter also occurs when the game auto-saves at times, highly annoying but I was able to largely get used to it. All these issues aside, I was still having a blast playing this, and I can see myself stepping into the world of 7 Days to Die on and off at times.

Although the visuals are indeed terrible, they are the least of this game’s problems. I was wrong to be optimistic; I’ve played plenty of dreadful games on Xbox One, but this is one of the worst ones yet.

I am struggling to understand why people would choose this over some of the really excellent survival games out there. Maybe on PC it’s really great. On the Xbox One it is not.

But what is early access?Early Access is commonly accepted to mean you are paying the developers and funding the game development. You are not "buying" the game but rather helping to further the development and help pay bills.So is the price something that should cause you to forget this game?Answer: Yes & No. It depends how you think about Early Access. With the description above, I see no room for complaints, you are supporting development with your wallet. As a reward you get the game free when it is released. Since you also get the game early, as in right away, you also can help bug test and report issues to the developers.So yes, the money is a high price to pay. Was it worth it? Yes. I would buy a second, third or fourth copy if I had friends/family interested in playing.Will this be the next Minecraft craze? The blocks all have physics, which means buildings can fall and crush your face. But as in real life, if you provide the proper supports you wont have a problem.The mining in this game leaves much to desire, it's rather slow, and is based on Stamina & Tool damage points, which drain from every hit. Water refills stamina but your tools will require repairing or replacing.The good point with mining though, there are not caves to search, you just start digging down and you will start finding ores. Which is great, it's not realistic in anyway but is a improvement over Minecraft's mining in a lot of ways, (which was not realistic either.)Overall you have both Multiplayer and Single-player and both are great in there own ways.You have many options when starting a game and they can be changed at anytime before starting one of your saves.If you don't want to play with giant wasps and hordes of zombies tearing through your walls ready to eat you, you don't have too.Play in a war torn landscape as the soul survival or join MP and find other survivors and rebuild civilization.Build a giant bunker underground or a giant castle. Build a wall with many traps and defenses surrounding a small town and build a community.
