The campaign is good fun with two other players, but can get a little repetitive. Every weapon and piece of military gear from the movie "Aliens" is accurately captured. The lore from "Prometheus" is also included. Fans of the series will probably have some fun. However, "Alien Isolation" is a better game. I would rate this with a 7 out of 10.

Almost all chick characters are like that.

Good sound, but that is where the fun ends. This may as well be a zombie shooting game where they subbed out the zombies for aliens. VirtuallyGood sound, but that is where the fun ends. As a cooperative horde shooter with friends it’s a great and fun time. If you are a fan and want to enjoy it with friends it’s a good buy. But if you are looking for the horror element of Aliens there is not much and most of it is rather repetitive and gets tedious.

And honestly, there’s not much to forgive here. The game plays great, I haven’t had any crashes or freezes and only a few disconnects early in the first few post-launch days. I wish it had $60 worth of levels but at $40 again, there’s a lot here. The level design is a bit linear and I wish there were a few more surprises in where you go (sometimes your objectives will very slightly change to replays don’t get tiresome). The guns feel fantastic — especially the Pulse Rifle and SmartGun and the Shotguns are all impactful. There’s some loot elements to it that allow for customization of your class abilities and weapons to give you more freedom on how you play. The Doc character needs a full overhaul as a healer/support as his mechanic is a nightmare to play with random people not using microphones. Outside of that, this is a blast to play alone and better with friends. The bots are capable enough (but don’t do objectives) and will keep up in the kill count and accuracy/shot percentage. If you’re an Alien fan, definitely give this a look. It integrates elements from all the films and even Alien: Isolation. It’s a fun time, even if it’s not one that you’ll spend forever with. Looking forward to coming back as they add more classes and content.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite is the latest low point in the franchise following Colonial Marines. The generic shooter disappoints in too many ways.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite reminds us of the mostly forgotten genre of movie tie-ins (even though this is simply a franchise tie-in occasion). It’s one of those games that mostly tries to capitalize on the power of its title, but at the same time it’s highly derivative in almost all of its aspects.

The Division is one of my favorite games ever, so my comment isn't an insult. With the bullet sponge enemies, high difficulty, tactical abilities, stat modifying weapon attachments, and overall feel of the game, the comparison is hard to ignore. This game is clearly meant to played in a group, even on Standard difficulty. Bots aren’t useless but take a lot of avoidable damage and often stand still. The story is forgettable and the dialog is abysmal. Finding intel unlocks lore but I stopped caring almost immediately. This game shines with its upgradable classes and pure fun gameplay. You will be repeating missions and mindlessly shooting down hordes of xenomorphs but you're always progressing. The perks and weapons you unlock are worthwhile and accommodate many playstyles. Dozens of relentless enemies fill the screen and come from everywhere. Most encounters are intense, leaving you with a "Who's next?!?!" attitude when its over. The end of the last mission is outstanding, so much so, my friend saved a clip and kept rewatching it lol.I was looking for a co-op game with the potential to be played indefinitely and despite being a budget game, it has filled that void nicely. - 7.5PS: I love that there are 2 modern games that capture the spirit of the first 2 movies in this franchise and are properly named.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite is an online co-operative action title that exudes love for the franchise on which it is based, that doesn't aspire to revolutionise anything and that has, in its simplicity, its main virtues and defects. As accessible and satisfying as it is repetitive. A perfect videogame to enjoy in company. Immediate fun that will also delight fans of the second film installment of the franchise. A pity it doesn't take more risks and is so predictable in almost everything it does.

Disappointed I thought I'd just play for an hour and return it. Glad I didn't listen to them.Ended up playing 4 hours straight and had to get off to get some sleep. The whole next day at work it was all I thought about and couldn't wait to get back in. Talked some friends into getting it to play with and they are having a blast as well. Sure there's things that could be improved/balanced/added (I'm sure they will in time), but what it does right far outweighs the bad. And ffs it's 2/3 the price of the average game, I can forgive for cutting a few minor corners.

The weak AI and the poor adherence from other players to Aliens: Fireteam Elite impede that the whole central idea from the game, a co-op shooter from the Aliens franchise, becomes real with its true potential. Even so, and for now, there’s a satisfactory gameplay that stands on the central mechanics of the game, which are enough to keep us interested. Until when we still don’t know.

The Xenos are awaiting, and there's plenty of them to take out. Aliens: Fireteam Elite feels like the sequel to Alien: Isolation is the gaming version of Aliens to Alien. Aliens: Fireteam Elite drops you into tense and often chaotic firefights that engage your souped-up team of Colonial Marines against waves of varying Xenomorphs and Weyland-Yutani. It's meant to be played with friends and the gameplay mechanics that lend themselves to co-op play are simple and quite effective. Aliens: Fireteam Elite won't blow you away with its nuanced approach to gameplay or groundbreaking graphics, but it will keep you and a group of friends entertained. The story at the core of Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a sign of Cold Iron Studios's dedication to its source material. Any fan of the Alien franchise will enjoy picking up the random hidden lore items or getting a bit of exposition while aboard your ship. It's somewhat odd in the fact that there are no cut scenes or even animated faces in Aliens: Fireteam Elite. There's little to no dialogue from the character you choose to play as. Your character emits the occasional grunt, warning, or heads up while healing, but that’s about it. There is plenty of talking coming from Sergeant Herrera, who acts like this game's Cortana, directing you via comms from the safety of the ship. Aliens: Fireteam Elite feels like a solid arcade shooter. There's nothing here in the gameplay that will next generation wow you, but its core features have been tried and trued by its predecessors, and they work quite well. While you can pick from one of five classes, some of them feel a bit lack luster overall, especially the Doc. There are a few RPG elements, and the classes will definitely help make co-op sessions more fun, especially if everyone is fighting over the weapons only one class can wield. There are a total of four campaigns in Aliens: Fireteam Elite with each with three missions. The basic mission structure is as such: head through several spaces clearing aliens, arrive at a bigger space that requires you to set up perimeter defenses before triggering a gigantic horde, defeat that horde and end the mission. The overall setup or format can get a bit old, but Cold Iron Studios is banking on the variety that comes with co-op and many Challenge Cards to keep you from getting too bored. With the short campaign and focus on three-person multi-player I wonder if Cold Iron Studios should have implemented a share-play option like some other releases we’ve seen on the Xbox. Aliens: Fireteam Elite is just okay as a solo shooter, but the inclusion of friends makes the gameplay arcade bliss. As far as the curse of Alien games goes, Aliens: Fireteam Elite seems to have safely avoided that and this is a fun, frantic third-person shooter set out to a score you and your teammates. Xenomorphs will fall from the ceiling, scurry over the walls, and jump out of ventilation shafts almost ceaselessly, which makes for a really fun, fast arcade play. As a fan of arcade style games and it’s hefty reliance of multiplayer it’s a solid release by Cold Iron Studios and fans should definitely pick it up and even newcomers should ponder this release in the Xbox digital games store if you’re into arcade driven action like myself. Keep an eye on Cold Iron Studios, their release here is a solid one. Cold Iron Studios provided the game for purposes of this review, however that has no bearing on the enjoyment it brought and I definitely recommend this one to the many Xbox gamers out there.
Took another gamble at this game series coming out of the abomination that was Colonial Marines.Gotta admit, I'm impressed.GameplayTook another gamble at this game series coming out of the abomination that was Colonial Marines.Gotta admit, I'm impressed.GameplayIt's good enough. Controls are smooth, activating skills is like a Destiny esque style of LB and RB. No super skills though but gives you very helpful passive perk. The lack of super skills I respect, these guys are not super heroes but your average grunts.Enemies range from different Xenos to small ones that die easily, Drones that will come and grab you and retreat when injured. For the ones who like to speed run through will come across the Marauder xeno who will 'love' you to death if you stray too far from your team. I love when this happens to them because this is a team game and you need to stick with the team. You get the occasion Wey Yu android soldiers, face huggers and obviously the big bad mama xeno.I've tried 4 classes and I'm sticking to the Doc or medic class only because they're a rare find in matchmaking (just doing my part). But that doesn't mean I'm a weakling, I've unlocked the Flechette sniper rifle and I'm one shotting bugs from afar while keeping the hard hitters alive. My second go to is the Demolisher or Heavy class. The Smart gun aka aimbot gun is very handy clearing out bugs in corridors. Technician is good for setting up defences like Sentries and slowing down advances with coil grenades. The gunner is the standard grunt which gives boosts to attacks. There is a 5th class to unlock once you complete the campaign.Graphics/SoundFor a small developer, they went all out in this department. Game looks beautiful running 60fps throughout. From the glossy reflective head carapace of a Xeno to the iconic sound of your Pulse rifle belting out 60 rounds full clip they kept true to the movies. Voice acting is a bit sub par and the radio noise can be overwhelming sometimes.MultiplayerMultiplayer has been good to me connection wise. Matchmaking has matched me with players with equal level so can't complain. It's the finding is the hardest part, it feels like they don't have enough players and you revert to your AI android soldiers who are CRAAAPPP. You will not be able to finish the harder missions without real players. Hopefully, they can buff your AI friends in the next update.Overall, I'm enjoying my experience with the game. It's a bit of a grind to level up but they unlock attachments and new guns so that'll keep me busy for the next month or 2.Final score 7.5
Fun and story rich for the die hard Alien fans out there. The job Cold Iron have done is impressive. Some triple A companies should take note.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite feels like a generic loot shooter that doesn't manage to capture at all the look and feel of the Aliens franchise. Instead, we are left with a boring, repetitive and buggy game.
Aliens Fireteam Elite is the quality shooter that Aliens fans have been wishing for for decades now. The story may feel a little disconnected from the film that inspired it but the action is great, it gets the details right and we're going to be playing it over and over for a long time.
We’ve waited far too long for an Aliens game this good, but it’s finally here. With an exciting campaign, five exciting classes, a dazzling array of weapons, and a staggering array of monsters to use them on, Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a perfect organism.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite is an absolute win if you’re a franchise fan and you stick to the multiplayer; if you’re a solo player and the universe does nothing for you, there’s not much here worth exploring.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite is very good indeed. There are issues, but the presentation is bang on, the action is unrelenting, and with missions taking 25 minutes and upwards to complete, the campaign is a good one. Throw in five classes to go at and this should well keep you busy. That’s not to mention the horde mode that unlocks when you complete the campaign.
Apart from a camera that despises the view from a corner, some buggy and inconsistent team matchmaking mechanics, and the curious decision to add punishing roguelike elements, Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a polished and potentially fun and action-filled romp through a corner of the Alien universe and lore. Played without human squadmates and reliant on AI stand-ins at anything but the easiest difficulty, the game’s more repetitious aspects begin to grate, as failure will be inevitable. Played with a trio of living beings possessing some situational awareness, reflexes and the ability to communicate, using an arsenal of cool guns and toys against swarms of iconic Xenomorphs is a mindless, if not mind-blowing, good time.
Despite what its reduced price might suggest, there's a lot here to keep you entertained for numerous hours, especially once you've managed your first run through all four acts and start tackling them again with higher difficulty settings in the pursuit of consistently better gear. There's so much satisfaction in customizing and managing a handful of classes with enough depth to transform them into the Colonial Marine you need at a given time, along with a plethora of great weapons to make the moment-to-moment action engaging from the first time you pull the trigger. What it lacks in dread it makes up for in pure white-knuckle action, making Aliens: Fireteam Elite a great place to engage with this iconic sci-fi franchise again.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite has an interesting premise: co-op shooter set in the Alien universe where players must push their abilities, refine their build, and face a continuous onslaught of enemies. In reality, though, it’s a bug-filled slog that proves to be a one-trick pony.
Like the films that inspired it, Aliens: Fireteam Elite is great popcorn fun with a friend or two, but if you’re not a fan of the popular film franchise and/or siege-style game modes like Gears of War’s Horde and Halo’s Firefight, you are likely in for a long grind, especially if you are playing solo.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a proposal that, in general terms, we have loved for its fidelity to the Alien movies and because it does not seek to be anything more than an action experience a la Left 4 Dead, already with built-in improvements that can be seen in Back 4 Blood, to kill aliens without stopping. However, it could have been much more and bring some variety to not always be the same. Still, if you are fans of the movie saga you can't let it escape.
Whilst Aliens: Fireteam Elite is lacking in some areas, and is not without its frustrations, it is a solid third-person survival shooter. The story won't pull you in, but the core gameplay is satisfying, fun, and addictive and that is what will ultimately keep you coming back. There is something here for fans of third-person shooters and Alien fans alike.
A nice cooperative shooter with a great atmosphere and plenty of customization possibilities. Its only flaw is that its mechanics end up being quite repetitive, but if you get together with two friends you will have a great time killing aliens.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite (finally) proves that a great game based on the Alien films is possible in the modern era. A solid story, amazing action, deep customization, and intense battles make this one of the best adaptations of the franchise to date.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a bad Aliens game but a whole bunch of fun. You’ll probably not find anything revolutionary here, but if you want to bellow “Let’s Rock” at friends as a tsunami of Xenomorphs comes at you from all angles, you’ll enjoy every second. Providing you’re not playing alone, with the game’s woeful bots.
Whilst not without its faults, Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a satisfying co-op shooter that shows that there's still fun to be had with the Aliens franchise.
Aliens Fireteam Elite is a cooperative shooter without infamy and without praise that, at a budget price, allows you to spend a few hours immersed in the typical atmosphere of Xenomorph-based films in the company of a couple of friends. However, do not expect a product capable of entertaining you for a long time due to an underlying repetitiveness and a scarce variety of situations that tends to tire rather quickly, not to mention the presence of an AI ally that is far from perfect, which makes the title difficult to enjoy for those who want to live the experience alone. The hope is that the free add-ons promised by the team can somehow revitalize the product and perhaps do justice to the Challenge Card system.
Aliens Fireteam Elite is a title that will likely disappoint you during the first few hours, but once you get past the first chapter, the game starts to open up to its potential more. If you have a squad ready for some challenging scenarios in a decent, albeit familiar, co-op shooter, then you could see yourself with an enjoyable few of hours on your hands.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite does a lot right when it comes to the core gameplay experience, but lacks in its narrative. It adapts all the good parts of a looter shooter and a zombie-like shooter experience at the cost of some repetitive mission objectives.
