This is surprising because this level of depth is pretty much AAA level, despite not being an AAA title.The game could use some improvements on the controls, it is fluid, but the animations and feedback could be better. Meanwhile the audio design for this game is abysmal, the cinematics are comically bad, but the graphics is good and the open world design (including the explorations, side quests, collectibles) is fantastic.Unfortunately, the developers somehow thought cheaping out on the voice acting and using a narrator for the entire game's storytelling was a good idea. News flash; it's not. In fact, even the writing for the narration wasn't good either. Turning it off in the settings just removes the auditory annoyance, but doesn't fix anything about the presentation of the story at all.I can't say I can fully recommend this game, as it has some quirks that mainstream players may not like (especially those that are used to the polish on AAA games). But in a larger sense, it is worth a try if you're buying it for less than half its ridiculous price tag.

Biomutant is a game with a true great potential but it just misses the mark on so many aspects. I hope to see Experiment 101 try to develop another game and see this potential through, in hopes that I won’t be disappointed again.

As beautiful as the world of Biomutant looks, so ugly is its filling. Cringe-inducing dialogues, a completely negligible story and bad boss fights and puzzles almost distract you from the fun aspects of the game. Exploring and figuring out the unique game world and a nice sense of progression for example.

Yes. Did it crash on me like 10 times including during and after an entire boss battle? Yes.. is it way too easy to accidentally sell your currently worn items to merchants so you kind of just ignore that aspect of the game? Yes. but they tried really hard to give you a content packed rpg, from weapon parts, to armour parts to find across this world.. tons and tons.. and tons and tons.. and tons and tons.. and tons and tons of dialog… however.. none of it comes together in an enjoyable way.Biomutant is a great idea, choose a tribe, interact with the other tribes and either switch sides or try to bring them all together… theres even a balance of lightness and darkness depending on your actions.. but this affects nothing but the ending of the game and the abilitites youre able to unlock for combat..Combat here is alright. .you have ranged weapons as well as the possibility to make really great close ranged melee weapons.. you can really go out into this world and craft some really great stuff as you set out to take down the 4 adorable world eaters… which are this games main bosses…But the problem with biomutant is everything in between the good parts and theres way too much of it…its like eating a sandwhich with a meter thick dry bread.. I would wager that nearly half of my 9 and a half hours was spent sitting through this games excruciating dialog… Biomutant never wants to shut up and just let you play its game.. anytime you get anywhere heres 10 minutes of hearing blabber while your brittish grasshopper translates for you… and its all always the same thing blah blah tree of life blah blah lightness darkness blah blah revenge forgive its all so unnecessary, boring, ad just pads out the game in such a bad way.. there is never any interesting dialog here.. theres no interesting story moments or cutscenes.. it all feels like a giant waste of my time.. I just want to get back into the world and take down the world eaters… along the way youll be doing other tasks to get to the world eaters.. these tasks are all basically the same, go to this building, do some switch flipping puzzles, and catch these creatures then go take down the world eater.. all while youll run into other mamals.. taking them on with your mutant abilities that you get to choose and of course your weapons you’ve been building up.. and while actually putting in the effort to craft the best items is enjoyable.. and collecting the items and materials for the best build possible.. the actual combat here is just not satisfying.. enemies are way too spongy.. so after sitting through mountains of dialog that thankfully are skippable.. you barley get to have any fun out in its world…Biomutant was decently enjoyable.. but overall I was pretty let down by this boring slog of a world.At least it has a great message.. stop polluting.I give Biomutant a 6.5/10

The game wants you to have simple quests, that push you to exploring entire world, because each location has some new swag that you can equip, consume or use for crafting. Crafting is very cool, you can build whatever you want to use for melee and ranged combat. I personally enjoyed building and testing in combat new weapons. Combat system, skills and mutations give you a lot of different options you can combine to build something unique. The story isn’t very complex, you don’t get a lot of twists, so it doesn’t distract you from exploring and you can go exploring entire map, I didn’t find any things that prevented me from going anywhere I wanted to explore, aside from areas that require resistances to go in. I’m now 30-40 hrs in game without even killing first world eater. Not sure on New Game+, but it opens you all class bonuses, so you can combine a best from multiple classes, and this is worth exploring. It’s actually first time I’m considering New Game+, after completing Witcher 3, Red Dead Redemption 2, Horizon Zero Dawn and this is mostly because exploring here is much more fun. Disregard all bad reviews, try it out yourself and make your own opinion. Experiment 101 continues to work on the game and I’m sure they will improve it based on gamers feedback further. They managed to build nice world that’s worth further content build on it.

Biomutant is a bit of a slow burner. It took a while to get its hooks into us, but it sure did. It's not startlingly original and is a bit overburdened by its sheer scope, but we don't feel shortchanged by our forty plus hours playing it. You could do a lot worse.

Biomutant has some wiggle room for improvements but if you are looking for a bright and colorful adventure full of cutesy names, martial arts and weirdly dark undertones, then this game is for you. If you don’t like the story, it’s not all that important anyway. This is a well-rounded good time that I would recommend for all RPG lovers.

Biomutant is full of creative ideas and unique thoughts that, when combined with such a gorgeous and compelling environment to explore, could have made for a top-tier experience that is easy to recommend. However, the fact that it has so many ideas crammed in that it almost feels like too much, and an open world that can feel very by-the-numbers, makes Biomutant a solid game that misses the mark almost as much as it hits the nail on the head.

Biomutant has a lot of heart, and really tries to put out some new and exciting ideas, but eventually fails to execute them in the best possible way. It's still a fun game to play, and can become a big franchise, but the devs need to find that killer idea and shift their focus on it.

One of the best combat systems in gaming that feels like nothing I've ever played. And I'm a big hardcore Souls type gamer. The world is beautiful and the characters are very interesting. The weapons are some of the best in gaming. The magic system is one of the best magic systems in gaming, which is always what I look for, a great magic system and man does this nail it. The Monster hunting in here is better than Monster Hunter and Witcher 3 and Witcher 3 is my favorite game of all time. The story is good enough. But a game that has this good of a combat system and exploration you really don't need a story hens breath of the wild again. This game does so much right, I really don't have any knit picks. Do not do yourself a disservice and pay attention to all of the negative reviews. Give it a try for yourself. It's probably the most original game I've played in the past few years. The gameplay Loop is one of the most addictive I have ever had the pleasure to be addicted to. I have to pry myself away from this game and I can't wait to get back to it.

Biomutant is what happens when someone makes an Ubisoft game, but without Ubisoft’s resources, experience, talent, or even willingness to take risks. With the exception of the art design, everything about Biomutant feels safe and familiar, but without the confidence or polish needed to make it effective. Safe, familiar, and hopelessly lost in the detritus-littered wasteland between design document and actual game.

Biomutant’s positives ever so slightly outweigh its faults and with more time (and patches), it could grow into a much more entertaining game. Its unique world, extensive customisation and pool of interesting moves and tricks in battle make this game fun to play but for now, a colourful but empty world, a wealth of glitches, and dull objectives make it a tough sell.

It’s been quite a while where I’ve been at my paying job simply waiting to come home so I could dive right back into a game; Biomutant did that for me. Even after completing the game I started up NG+ right away and continued on my journey with the same excitement. For such a small team, all of their hard work has paid off, as Biomutant is easily my top contender for Game of the Year at this point.

Landing combos, and zipping around the sandbox is amusing enough, and the game’s progression systems offer the usual RPG hook. But overall it’s a case of light entertainment and not truly innovative design.

A lot of bugs and crashes will spoil the experience. The game design and the storytelling with one camera shot never switching angle feels outdated and don't do any justice to the brilliant artistic vision and message hidden behind Biomutant.

For the first time in a long time, a game has lived up (and in my opinion surpassed) the hyped that’s been created around it. Frankly, I’ll be surprised if BIOMUTANT is not game of the year.

Biomutant is trying to be too many things. It can be fun when you’re comboing supernatural abilities and homemade weaponry to take down a group of bad guys as a furry little post-apocalyptic ronin. But its RPG mechanics are so clunky and uneven, and its various story threads are so underdeveloped, that you’ll end up feeling like nothing you do actually matters. If you just want to explore yet another open-world and beat up some bad guys, then Biomutant will keep you busy for a few hours. Just be ready to encounter a slew of baffling and questionably executed design choices.

With excellent enemy creature design, a rich and diverse world, and piles and piles of choice when it comes to combat and customisation, Biomutant has a lot of the building blocks of a top-drawer action RPG. It’s really missing only a few, but they’re big ones: its cookie-cutter approach to objectives and puzzles feels two-or-so generations off the pace of other open-world action games, and that leaves the quest to gather all of the things feeling repetitive early on.

Still there is nothing quite like this game and I adore that. It reminds me of getting unique experiences that we just don’t see in this new world. It is clear that this team also remembers those types of games and have crafted one of the best ones to date. Don't’ sleep on Biomutant. It is truly one of the most original experiences I have played in a long time.

The game might not be as polished as a triple-a blockbuster, but with much blood, sweat and tears Experiment 101 delivers an adorable mixtur of open-world action, faeri tale and wonderful art style that outshines most of its minor weaknesses. Caution: Don't play it on Xbox One S or the older version of the console because of the game's poor performance on these devices.
