With its sexy heroine, its naughty fights and its graphics which constantly seek to impress, Bright Memory Infinite has everything of the little guilty pleasure. But some players will feel disappointed because the game is too short and the story is anecdotal.

Chapeau…Concernant le jeu, il faut le prendre comme un projet indé fou d’un gars tout seul qui a un sacré talent. C’est une sorte de démo technique, souvent très beau avec des effets de particules et de lumières vraiment bluffant. Le tout avec tous les défauts d’un jeu à petit budget: quelques bugs, un jeu hyper scripté avec des couloirs (murs invisibles, feuillage qui nous bloque, quasi aucune interaction avec les décors, etc…). Le jeu ne dure que 02h30 en moyenne (beaucoup moins si vous rushez sans chercher les artefacts) mais avec une action soutenue (et un moment bien pourri dans une voiture).J’aime beaucoup la bande son du jeu, le gameplay nerveux (on peut alterner entre corps à corps au sabre, magie de téléportation et arme à feu). Et j’aime aussi l’ambiance très « samourai ».Pour la blague il fait le job. Le scénario est limite incompréhensible (du moins on pige pas le pourquoi du comment) mais je me suis bien amusé il faut le reconnaître.Je vous conseille d’attendre qu’il soit dispo dans le gamepass. A 19 euros actuellement, ça fait un peu cher l’heure de jeu.Ah et j’oubliais, la version infinite propose aussi des skins offerts pour notre héroÏne qui peut se battre en bikini ou tenue de soubrette (parmi tant d’autres) et des skins d’armes amusants

The visuals are also decent considering the budget and team size, so no complaints there. Where the game really falls flat is the length, the game only took me 1 hour 36 minutes to finish, I'm a fan of short games, but this is obviously extreme. Another major problem is stuttering, the game suffers tremendously with the dreaded asset streaming stutter that is plaguing the PC scene currently. My last major complaint is the amount of screen shake as it is excessive, I can't actually think of a game with more intense screen shake and there's no option to disable or reduce it and by the end of the game it had given me a headache.

Bright Memory: Infinite is a shining example of the power of development tools when placed in the hands of someone who truly knows how to get the most out of them. With its AAA production values and polished gameplay, it provides an evening’s worth of action that entertained me in a way that the genre has struggled to do since Respawn’s underappreciated Titanfall 2. If you’re comfortable with dropping twenty dollars on an experience that you know will be over in a couple of hours and are willing to overlook the messy narrative in favour of the excellent gameplay loops, then Bright Memory: Infinite is absolutely worth supporting.

Beats the demo by far: Extremely fast-paced shooter that expertly combines shooting action and melee combat - a fast-food snack that should also appeal to FPS connoisseurs.

Despite its shortcomings, I have enjoyed my time with Bright Memory: Infinite for what it is. It’s a slick first-person shooter that’s overflowing with energy and that blends gunplay, melee, and psychic abilities in exciting ways, set against a stunning Chinese mythological backdrop. It just feels like it should be so much more: there’s a foundation here for something great, if it only it was more refined and given the space to fully explore that potential.

Bright Memory: Infinite has its moments, but in the end, it feels like a project that could have been great if it was developed by an entire team with all the necessary resources at their disposal. Unfortunately, the moments that disappoint are amplified by the hype that was created around the game. Although it has potential, Bright Memory: Infinite does not live up to the expectations of those were waiting for this game. It is way too simple, empty and short, with only a few moments of fun.

If you're a fan of fast-paced first person shooters, Bright Memory: Infinite is definitely a game for you. There is a distinct smooth combination of ancient Chinese mythology style combined with futuristic technology. While quite a short game, able to be completed in a single sitting, it was entertaining from start to finish.

All in all, Bright Memory Infinite might not quite live up to the hype it built up two years ago, but it’s still a solidly made and presented shooter. The action is fast and hectic, and the sword and glove powers are great fun to use and upgrade. A few niggles aside, you should consider checking this out if you’re after a bit of fun but brainless shooting.

Bright Memory: Infinite is a promising new entry from a small studio, with visuals and a gameplay loop that give it the opportunity to sit alongside some of the heavy hitters in the genre. Obviously, this is just the beginning of a long journey, and for the first game from a very tiny studio it's a huge success. The enthusiasts did what the players asked for. One can only guess what fate awaits the FYQD studio, but I would not be surprised if in 10 years Bright Memory becomes a huge franchise under the wing of a major publisher.

Bright Memory Infinite brings the ideas of its predecessor to a much more satisfying conclusion and comes within striking distance of many of the games it’s inspired by.

Backed by breathtaking visuals and incredibly visceral combat that holds its own against some of the genre’s elite, Bright Memory: Infinite is a fun and bombastic jaunt for action fans to revel in.

Unskippable cutscenes made replaying the first few levels more of a chore than it should've been, and the same remains true if you opt to replay the whole game on a higher difficulty level after completing it. There's nothing else to do if you want to eke out some additional replayability, and Bright Memory: Infinite's short length is certain to put some people off. It's a fun shooter for as long as it lasts, though, offering a satisfying mix of fast-paced gunplay and dynamic action. It's also hard not to be impressed that this came from the talents of a lone developer. Unfortunately, a dismal stealth section, unintelligible story, and some major technical issues hold it back, while its terseness does make it difficult to recommend, even at a low price point.

Bright Memory: Infinite looks incredible for a game from a small development team, and the core sword-and-gun gameplay is fun enough. However, everything surrounding those two elements feel unpolished and poorly thought-out. The incoherent story, the non-combat gameplay mechanics, and general lack of quality control drag down the entire thing. If you're looking for a quick and breezy shooter to tide you over for an afternoon, Infinite might be fun for you. Otherwise, there's nothing here that you can't see in videos that show off its rain-soaked beauty.

Despite all my problems with Infinite, it's a game made by a single developer (for the most part) that was amazing looking enough that Xbox wanted to tie it to its then next-gen, now current-gen console.
