Gran Turismo 7 is a saint without miracles and has Lewis Hamilton, Igor Fraga and another legion of professional players as apostles. With an iconic Formula 1 driver and the Brazilian Gran Turismo Sport world champion advocating in its favor, who would I be to say a single word against this title? Well, I have several words for what Gran Turismo could do to be a better racing game, but nothing that could tarnish the reputation of this letter to motorsport fans. It's a game with impeccable gameplay, incredible graphics, and makes an ode to the history of motorsport, with the potential to suck up thousands of hours of gameplay (playing alone or online), this year and beyond. If you're a fan of racing games, you won't regret playing it and having it in your collection. Perhaps my biggest mistake was creating expectations for this title. I swore that this was the ideal time for the Gran Turismo series to go back to being revolutionary as it was in the past, but Kazunori Yamauchi chose to just follow the teachings of your old testament.

I've completely stopped playing the game as it's not worth my time anymore. It has become laborious to play and I don't find it enjoying at all. Indeed, they have largely reduced the credits earned per race and it becomes ridiculously long and time-consuming, needless to say also ultra boring to earn new credits to buy new cars. Other modes than the solo mode are not rewarding at all, and the utmost shame is that a lot of cars are very expensive, some of them costing the equivalent of +30h of farming in terrible conditions. There are +400 cars in the game, and what we want as players is to be able to earn new cars at a regular pace to enjoy them, and not to have to wait 5 years before buying thisbeloved and long-desired 12m Jaguar.Polyphony created at the last minute before the release of the game extremely unaffordable MTs in prevision of such moves, and as of now you may spend 120e of real money just to buy ONE car if you cannot farm. This is absolutely unacceptable because we do not want to pay 1000 euros a full game, but not to be deceived by a game maker that already sells its game 80e. Gran Turismo 7 offers a great variety of cars, tracks and locations in glorious detail. It takes quite a long time to unlock it all though. The campaign has been replaced by menus in the cafe, but still requires (too) many activities before the entire game is unlocked and everything is available. However, what IS available is of the highest standards.

A return to form for Gran Turismo. After too many years, Polyphony Digital crafted an almost perfect iteration of Gran Turismo, where past and present blend together for an epic journey through the car culture.

Gran Turismo 7 is a real return to the series' roots, one that fans have been waiting for. It brings together within it the multi and community aspect of GT Sport while rediscovering the "RPG of the racing game" aspect of the first four opuses with a well-structured and scalable GT mode. The driving is both technical and accessible, benefiting from great precision which offers a good margin of progress. 420 vehicles, 90 tracks on 34 circuits and mission and license modes for those who like small challenges, it promises a phenomenal lifespan to all car simulation fans. Although we would have appreciated a less plan-plan artificial intelligence, GT7 regains its acclaim to once again become The Complete Real Driving Simulator that we have always loved.

If you can suffer through the clunky menus, endless dull dialogue and 100 visits to the cafe, then there’s an excellent racing game somewhere hidden in Gran Turismo 7. It’s baffling that the game does its best to impede you from getting to the track, but when you actually get there, there’s a lot of fun to be had.
