Wreckfest is one of the best Switch ports ever with great gameplay and visuals and a lot of content available, both for single player and online races. Just a few performance issues and adaptation to portable mode tarnishes a great racing game.

If you’re looking for the ultimate Wreckfest experience on your big screen, you’ll likely want to look at other versions of the game over this one. But if you’re looking for a version you can take with you, this Switch port of Wreckfest is more than respectable enough to suit the job. For those completely new to the game, you’ll find this to be an excellent choice if you’re looking for a somewhat more destructive racing experience than the norm.

Wreckfest plays no different than the other games. It looks really good and has good destruction. I also played online. My wifi comes from my cellphone provider. I noticed no frame rate drops, lags, or clipping. Also the font size on the oled screen I can barely read. Add a point if you play it on your TV. Other than that it has nice detailing and good hd rumble feedback

Wreckfest is one of the more impressive Switch ports we've seen, taking a game that already had performance issues on more powerful hardware and delivering a relatively stable version with reasonable loading speeds and all its debris-flinging carnage fully intact. Handheld play is a little less visually acceptable, and the Switch tax rears its ugly head again, but just like the rough-and-ready roadsters in the game, we ultimately had a great time behind the wheel.

On the switch lite you may as well be playing with blinkers gaffer taped over both eyes. If you do see ahead when cresting a rise etc the distance/time is so short and the car handling so ropey compared to the 'on tracks AI' you will go from 1st to 16th after a tiny excursion followed by a mullering from the AI behind you once you rejoin the track.

I've seen a lot of great ports (like Redout, Mutant Football League, Minecraft, Borderlands) and I've seen a lot of bad ports (MXGP3, GRIP to some extent, Road Redemption) and honostly Wreckfest is one of the best ports I have ever played on the Switch.If you've played or have seen Wreckfest on PC, Playstation or Xbox you already know it is a pretty demanding game hardware wise. You'll need a decent mid end or high end PC to be able to run it on a stable 60fps and even then you can have frame drops.So when they announced Wreckfest on Nintendo Switch I was a bit scared that the game would run like a potato and would be downscaled so bad that the graphics would look like a PS2 game.However, this is not the case. The game runs smooth, the graphics are awesome and it has all the content it does on PC and other Consoles.The graphics are amazing for a game of this caliber on the switch. Of course you will notice that it isn't as pretty as on the PC or Console but no one is expecting that with the Switch's hardware. Nevertheless it looks very very good and personally I think it's one of the prettiest ports I have played.The gameplay is basically the same as on PC or Console. All the gamemodes, tracks and cars are there and the damage you deal or get dealt is as good as on PC or Console. However, the amount of racers during a race is reduced to 16 (that's 8 less than on other platforms). Which I think is done because it would otherwise stress the Nintendo Switch too much. I think this is a bit of a bummer but it doesn't take the fun away.Both handheld and docked run perftectly. It's great to play on a big screen and be able to take it with you without any blur for both docked and handheld.Like I said before all the content is there as well. The only thing missing is the DLC in the European version. I'm not sure why but the European version will receive all the DLC's on the 30th of june 2022.I would recommend this game to anyone that is looking for an exciting, arcade racing game with lots of content and a lot of damage!

It runs at a rock solid 30fps most of the time with 16 cars on track, particle effects, the damage modeling fully intact, and even great lighting effects. My only slight complaint is not with the game, but rather the Switch controls. They simply aren't the best you can get, I have a Switch Lite but I did get used to how it feels here. The DLC also is not included but frankly, I am okay with buying the DLC again to reward Bugbear for such an amazing job squeezing this game onto a handheld like this and doing it phenomenally.

But I do believe this is the gateway game to get somebody into the racing genre. No, Wreckfest is not an authentic racing experience like Gran Turismo. Wreckfest is an arcade racer with some long and dull races but thats as far as one can go when discussing negatives about the game. The realistic driving mechanics and damage engine makes for a one of kind experience, comparable to GRID if anything. There's nothing like getting out and crashing some vehicles. The game's current flaws include aggressive AI and occasionally inadequate control from the player's input.There are lots of vehicles to buy in the game, as well as just enough tweaks to improve your vehicle. The controls are smooth, and there are lots of choices to ensure that you have complete control over your settings. Whether you're a novice or an expert at this type of game, there's something for everyone. After completing your career, you may compete with other racers from across the world in multiplayer. There's also an option where you may create your own races. I highly recommend giving it a try, as it really is for any kind of player, car fanatic or not.

Although it drove under the radar on PS4, Wreckfest deserves the attention of racing fans, especially those with a destructive streak and a love of vehicular mayhem. With its vastly improved framerates and bumped-up resolution, Wreckfest on PS5 is the definitive way to play the game, whether against humans or the game’s more-than-decent AI drivers. Wreckfest might not be the new console generation’s ultimate racing sim, but it has some depth, a unique set of chops, and is a lot of fun.

Wreckfest looks, plays and feels better than ever on PS5 and its mix of arcade chaos and realistic physics still holds up very well indeed.

Wreckfest just fully embraces what it is, and you have to respect it. Bugbear's brash, fender-bending racer has been unleashed on PlayStation 5 as part of May's PlayStation Plus lineup, and it's still very much the chaotic, crash-happy, Destruction Derby-esque experience people love. In the jump to new hardware, the game definitely benefits in a few areas, though some enhancements are better than others.

Wreckfest is back with a fine next-gen port, going that extra mile with some wonderfully chaotic gameplay. It isn’t perfect, with some shortcomings with multiplayer, the odd loading times, and a surprisingly cheesy soundtrack, though ultimately, Bugbear’s done a fine job enhancing it for next-gen technology.

Wreckfest on PS5 is a clear improvement over its last-gen origins. The core game stays intact and offers some ridiculously fun gameplay throughout its extensive single-player campaign. The DualSense is under-used and the graphics could have been clearer in some areas, but it’s still a great game and it’s the perfect introduction to Wreckfest if you missed it on last-gen consoles.

Not a bad port, but weak DualSense support, cross-play problems and untransferable PS4 savegames stop the fun in its tracks sometimes.

Outre les arènes où tout le monde se rentre dedans, Wreckfest propose également des courses plus « normales »… où tout le monde se rentre dedans… pour finir le premier. Il propose également des « challenges » aussi délirants que les meilleurs épisodes Top Gear (de l’ère Clarkson bien sûr) avec des moissonneuses, des tondeuses, des canapés ou des bus scolaires…La physique (des collisions) est très bien rendue mais ça, c’est le minmum syndical ; ce qui est plus surprenant concerne la simulation elle-même du comportement routier des divers véhicules, lequel (toutes aides désactivées) se révèle étonnamment réaliste. Côté prise en main, ce n’était pas forcément très convaincant en 2019 mais ça s’est amélioré et bon nombre d’options permettent de rendre la bagnole moins capricieuse. Cependant, l’aide du contrôle de stabilité est clairement nécessaire surtout en vue externe, la vue obligatoire pour ne pas finir dans le décor à chaque virage, tamponné par un con-current hargneux et très con.Et ils sont légion ou presque, ces cons hargneux ! jusqu’à 24 au maximum mais 16 le plus souvent (si on s’inclut dans la liste bien sûr). Wreckfest is the epitome of white knuckle driving, as you’ll clench when you can see an oncoming hit about to happen, or laugh uncontrollably once you completely destroy someone and send them flying off the track. Wreckfest is chaotic and frantic fun at its core, and even though it has its issues, it’s a complete blast to play and enjoy.

Chaos, destruction and physics. Wreckfest is a carefree racer, but also a challenging one. Inspired by the Destruction Derby and FlatOut formula, but adding its own essence and a good progression system.

Two particular games come to mind. Destruction Derby on the PlayStation and Crash N’ Burn on the PlayStation 2. All I really need to say is I love it a lot.I’m not much of a racing game fan but i am a dirty racer when I do play them so this game fits me perfectly.But let me talk about the game instead of my thoughts first. Wreckfest is a demolition derby racing game, which in best way I can describe, crashing a bunch of cars together in what can be the most chaos filled environment, plus you can like race and other fun stuff while you do it.Gameplay is very solid and feels I would say a bit less like a simulation based, perhaps more like a Forza horizon kind of deal. The customization kind of reminds me a bit of Forza as well with its rating system for vehicles and purchasing of parts to increase the rating. There’s even tuning as well. I have no real issues with anything. Everything works quite well on my standard VCR Xbox One and I can drive a lawnmower.Overall, this is a game I would prefer instead of most racing games like Forza or Need for Speed because I’m much more of a dirty racer myself, and anyone familiar with modern racing games should be able to get into this no problem, especially with the friend nudge. There’s still a lot more I’d love to see with this game in future updates, but it’s still a solid recommendation from me.My Rating: 8/10

Wreckfest is the spiritual successor of FlatOut and Destruction Derby and offers a fun, hectic, solid experience. Now on consoles, too.

Overall, the game offers a great experience that even though I got tired of after a few hours, I came back to multiple times. The game modes give a solid bit of excitement, but the real fun to me came from the online experience and special vehicles you can use to cause real destruction. I would give the game an overall 4 out of 5. I give it this based on its overall gameplay falling a little short in variety to me, but keep in mind that leaves plenty of room for them to eventually improve on the game.

The wait was undoubtedly well rewarded, given the results fielded by Wreckfest. A fun arcade racing game, enhanced by a damage system with few equals on consoles and a wide variety of cars, races and tracks. We would have expected some new entries compared to the PC version in circulation for over a year, above all to avoid the risk, in the long run, of a certain repetition in the mechanics of the Career.

Wreckfest is a surprising triumph in blending the best that sim and arcade racers have to offer in an explosive and visually gratifying package. A few visual issues and overly aggressive AI do little to spoil one of the best driving games of 2019.

It's a genuinely fun game with replay value, this isn't something you're going to play for an hour then never touch again. It has great steering "feel" and smashing (see what I did there) physics, but at the end of the day there is a real racing feel and you have to actually try to win and use more strategy then just running people off the road. The vehicle selection is great! You can race ratty old muscle cars, lawnmowers, RVs, you name it. In a world where $59.99 seems to be the industry standard price to buy a game, Wreckfest is $39.99 which is a super cool move by the developer. You're getting a lot of game for $40, trust me. As someone who owns a full library of $500+ worth of popular racing games, I'm finding myself over and over again reaching for my $39 copy of Wreckfest. Seriously, pull the trigger and buy a copy, you won't regret it! Wreckfest delivers a lot of smiles per gallon!

Not only one of the best racing games of the generation but for once one that feels genuinely different to any of its major rivals – unless you count spiritual predecessor FlatOut.

All in all, Wreckfest is absolutely worth checking out on consoles. Having not played it on PC I can’t 100% say how it compares to that version of the game, but as far as console racing games go, Wreckfest certainly feels like one of the best this gen. The various modes, the unique demolition derby events, and awesome destruction modeling on display really make for an entertaining, no-nonsense type of racing game. I’d highly suggest checking it out, you won’t be disappointed.

Those who persevere, despite the occasional bout of unfairness, will get a lot of mileage out of this.

Wreckfest just doesn’t live up to the promise of its name. The destruction is technically impressive, but oddly distancing. It awes with flying debris, but rarely exhilarates.

Turn off your mind, relax and ram someone off the road. A definitive festival of wrecking which nails the damage modelling and weighty feel of the cars perfectly, Wreckfest is a must for anyone with even the smallest fondest for racing and wrecking.

Bugbears latest release might not be flawless, but it's certainly a unique entry in racing genre. Surely some issues like not so good music, long loading times and weak user interface are somehow annoying, but when compared to positives, you will not mind them. Wreckfest might not offer the same amount of humor that we saw in the earlier Flatout games, but it has a lot to say, especially when it comes to online gaming.

Despite a few odd technical issues, Wreckfest is really rather fun to play. The sheer carnage on display as you smash and crash with your fellow racers is quite the sight, especially in the destruction derby style modes. Those looking for a racer with a little extra edge will no doubt find it here.

There is so much fun in Wreckfest. A racing "deathmatch" which originated on the top demolition technology is full of crashes, tension, but also humor and DIY work.

Wreckfest lacks coherent vision. It feels as if Bugbear Interactive, during all these long years of development hell, still haven’t figured out what game exactly they were trying to create.

In the end, Wreckfest is a game that you will tend to make your own fun in. The career mode can get a little old after a while, but the multiplayer makes it even more fun throwing other players into the already impressively crazy mix. Bugbear knows what their players want out of a game from them, and they offer it up in a really fun, chaotic package that any arcade racer can enjoy.

Wreckfest is out of its early access, but there is still work to do, especially to give it a real "soul" in solo mode. It is far above all the competition in rendering physical damage on cars. It offers hours of discoveries and online racing.
