Mass Effect: Legendary Edition offers the comprehensive experience that the whole trilogy rightfully deserves. Thanks to this, you can easily forgive it all sorts of small ailments associated with the age of individual parts and you drown dozens of unforgettable hours in the game without blinking an eye. Yes, even after such a long time.

Some things about Legendary Edition disappointed or irritated me (no support for the mods, no option to import save files or characters from the original games, no multiplayer in ME3, Denuvo, some bugs and glitches) but as an avid fan who played through the trilogy many times, I enjoyed the remasters immensely.

The mass effect trilogy I think is easily one of the best games ever made, it is Bioware at their best, the game world even by todaysThe mass effect trilogy I think is easily one of the best games ever made, it is Bioware at their best, the game world even by todays standards is mind blowing the amount of detail they put into even the smallest things, the soundtrack is perfect and omg the writing is some of the best there is in the industry and so funny (depending on choices) I have always been a massive fan of the 1st game, it has more (traditional) rpg mechanics than the other 2 and I always preferred the weapons system as well and at the time of release it was so ahead of its time I still remember running around the citadel for the first time with my jaw on the ground with the epic music and that feeling very quickly returned, the mako planet exploring as well I think was such a nice addition and now looks amazing! the 2nd game removed some of the rpg stuff and went down more the 3rd person shooter route, simpler weapons system etc, but keeps the feeling of the original and adds so much more, the 3rd game now in its current state as they done alot of work to improve the ending from the original release is a nice end to the trilogy, its great how the simplest doesnt seem that important choice made in game 1 can have massive consequences in later games, playing on ps5 I personally chose to favour resolution and all 3 games look amazing in 4k they done an amazing job bringing the visuals up to todays tv's ( i think i played the original on 360 on a crt through scart connection.... lol) but this is subjective and it seemed to easily run at 60fps in performance with no notable drops, I was genuinely shocked how well me3 still stands up visually today just like the other 2 games all were so ahead of their time (although the 1st game now blown up to 4k the faces do show their age abit but it was so impressive at the time), and with all dlc included for all 3 games you get the amazing citadel dlc for me3 which has got to be up there with the greatest dlcs ever made, if you fell in love with the world /chars and enjoy/ laugh at the Bioware writing you will love it, after finishing the 3rd game I sat there for a while thinking about how its actually quite a sad thing what alot of games have become, technically/visually stunning but so many mindless multiplayer generic maps, so many yearly updates, charging money for a skin as big companies try to squeeze every penny they can out of their generic games, no originality, what happened to the amazing creativity that these games show, (my only little complaint is something that drove me mad back when me3 was first released was not being able to holster your weapon in combat zones was kinda hoping they had enabled that but its just a silly personal annoyance)Part of gaming history and some of the best games ever made now been remastered very nicely all in 1 package with all dlcs a very easy 10!

Despite its flaws, Mass Effect Legendary Edition acts a great excuse for long-time fans to revisit the franchise as well as a solid place for newcomers to dive in. You'll laugh, cheer, cry, and have a great time. Older design and narrative problems remain and this remaster could have worked out the bugs more but you'll still be blown away by everything that Mass Effect Legendary Edition has to offer.

If we’re setting off to new horizons and, eventually, a new Mass Effect, then Mass Effect Legendary Edition serves as a solid collection of this trilogy. This is everything these three games were, and still are to many fans, preserved for time. Mass Effect is the ultimate RPG. When so many of your actions affect the future of not just you and your friends, but potentially the entire universe, there's a great deal of responsibility on BioWare to deliver outcomes that feel worth one's time. I liked #1 quite a bit, although it’s a bit short. There’s only a few main missions. It definitely adds to the Mass Effect story. There’s a bit too much time in the Mako, and too many elevators. The gameplay is much improved to be close to #2 & #3. The graphics are better- except human’s faces in cutscenes. Overall I liked it pretty well- it was better than I thought. Shepard is at her best in this one. It’s great building your crew and going on loyalty missions for them. There’s such a wide variety of missions- never gets boring. It’s a great action rpg. There are great boss fights- but the worst enemies for me are those darn husks! It builds up to a great ending mission- although it stinks losing some of your crew. The 4k graphics look great- especially in several face models like Thane. It builds well off of ME1 and leads well to ME3. It’s the best in the series by far- but you should play all 3 games to truly experience the ME world. I’ve played this many, many times- and I highly recommend!Mass Effect 3 Legendary EditionME3 ends the trilogy on a good note. Although I like ME2 better, there’s a lot going for #3. It has more action than the other two games. It also has many improvements- such as graphics, gameplay, and little elements like being able to use the omnitool to bypass doors, jumping across gaps, etc. Bioware was at its height of game making with this one. I must say the characters in #2 were much better except for Liara. Most people don’t like the ending, but I don’t mind it- especially with the extended cut. This rounds out the Legendary Edition well- and it’s a must to play all three games.

The original game has been reworked visually and mechanically to be far more playable in 2021, even though it’s still less than ideal when it comes to combat, especially moving onto the sequels. The second and third Mass Effects don’t receive as major an enhancement to their quality of life, but what they do receive is visual clarity. The game runs magnificently on current and last-generation consoles, not to mention load times are insignificant now and the graphical touches that have been instituted only help to enhance the experience. There’s nothing quite like Mass Effect out there, and having upwards of 300 hours worth of content readily available is an immense value that goes unmatched. It may have taken longer than we had expected to come out, but we finally got a remaster that’s does the franchise proud.

If you've never played a Mass Effect game before, you can consider purchasing the Legendary Edition an absolute no-brainer. If you fancy revisiting BioWare's seminal sci-fi saga (and frankly, why wouldn't you?), then, equally, Mass Effect Legendary Edition is essential. Bottom line: you need this.

If you ignore these flaws and show indulgence for a 14-year-old game, you will reconnect with a memorable and still captivating saga to walk through, coated in a generous layer of varnish that allows it to - almost - hang on to the present day.

The update of the game has its pros and cons, but the main improvements are well received. Narrative, setting and dialogs are still awesome, so having all condensed in a single package feels like a real treasure.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition is a magnificent compilation. A title that will undoubtedly delight fans of Shepard's epic. Those who grew up and discovered a genre thanks to the work of BioWare will find their favorite titles like never before. The facelift looks great on each of the three games. In addition, the increased and stable fps on Xbox Series X gives a totally new look and feel to the title.

While retaining some flaws of the original games, Mass Effect Legendary Edition (and specifically ME1’s remaster and modern take on the action) is worth exploring once again for the fans, and for those who’ve always wondered what was so special about the franchise and never gave it a try.

This is BioWare firing — for the most part — on all cylanders and hopefully is the dawn of a new resurgence of the franchise (fingers crossed for EA Play 2021!). Get in, get immersed, explore the galaxy and defend it from a once in a 50,000 year occurence. Then head on over to Andromeda to appreciate that before the next adventures in the Sol system take place.
