Though you are at the top of the food chain, you do not get any benefits of being the boss as you are just an errand boy like every other open-world game. I would have loved to control the gang and show them sometimes why I am the boss but the game doesn't give you that opportunity

Saints Row R3mastered just came out last year on eighth gen consoles and it's pretty superior than the seventh gen port way back then. And now SR3mastered is far more prettier on PS5 and Xbox Series S & X thanks to the free upgrade for those that bought physical or digitally on last gen. So far, there isn't anything new you might've expect out of this port - except that 4K resolution, native 60fps, and nutcracking looks far prettier in 2021 and it handles like a dream. Seems like Volition are already hard at work and almost teasing us a brand new Saints Row title to keep us busy in today's reimagined Steelport. And again, a huge shoutout to Volition for making this port a freebie after buying the last gen port full price just to save our wallets from spending even more as this generation already got started.

I love the original SR3 and have replayed it several times. This version looks pretty at first glance, but it has more glitches than theI love the original SR3 and have replayed it several times. They changed the art style in a way that is unsettling and it lost a great deal of character (uncanny). There are missing sounds (minigun sounds so so wrong I can't use it), broken windows you suddenly can't jump through, enemies that glitch out or warp into weird shapes, lots of little things that never ever happened on the original cut. Also, some of the post processing effects, like DOF and Motion Blur are too strong and make it difficult to AIM at things without your screen turning into a smudgy mess. Especially the Depth of field. Aim at a bad guy and half the time the focus in on you, so your target is a blur. I just turned those effects off, but still - shouldn't have to do so.It's like a beautiful old friend going under the knife for a face-lift, and coming out younger looking, but their face is paralyzed and they occasionally pee themselves.It's kinda sad.

It’s still a good time rolling through the city in this Remastered take. Even with the performance issues I experienced, which did hamper the experience sometimes, I found myself having a fair amount of fun being the wackiest criminal I could be. In its current state, it’s not the most polished version of the game, despite being better looking than its original version. But the gameplay here is fun enough to forgive that to some degree. If you’re looking for something outside Los Santos and would rather hit people with a dick bat, this isn’t a bad way to spend some time indoors.

Overall there isn’t much more to say about Saints Row: The Third Remastered because, all in all, it’s the same game I loved back in 2011. Underneath a fairly fresh coat of paint is the same adrenaline pumping, juvenile story of a gang-turned-media-sensation trying to rebuild itself. In that regard, assessed purely in a vacuum, this game is a smash hit. In context, though, I can’t help but feel this release is a bit premature. With the original Saints Row: The Third still being recent enough that it looks alright and plays well, I can’t shake the feeling that letting it nap for another few years may have resulted in a more impressive remaster.

With some huge visual improvements, the remastered version of Saints Row 3 is one of the best remasters in the current generation, period.

Saints Row: The Third Remastered is an impressive return to this title. The developer went out of their way to bring this title back with plenty of upgrades and overhauls to make it feel like we remember. I do wish the game remained locked at 60fps on the newer consoles, even if it sacrificed some of the resolution though. As it stands this is the best version of the game to date and a perfect excuse for me to overrun Steelport once again.

Ultimately, the best way to look at Saints Row The Third Remastered is as the best version of a 2011 video game. There are things that haven't held up, certainly, and some visual elements are definitely outdated. But for all its warts, both in the ideological and technical sense, The Third represents a better era for gaming. An era before the line between games-as-a-service and single-player experiences were blurred. An era before Ubisoft singlehandedly made open-world games less interesting. An era before Borderlands would set the standard for video game comedy with its egregious blend of yelling humor and memes.

A solid remaster of a good game. The ridiculous but funny story and the huge content thanks to all the included DLCs are now shining in a much better graphic. However, the remaster did not wipe out the negative points. The missions are still repetitive, the AI is stupid as hell and the world feels a bit empty, if you leave the path of missions.

Some companies would have just taken Saints Row: The Third, tweaked the lighting a little, bundled it with all of its DLC and shoved it out on current-gen consoles with an improved resolution and called it a day. With Saints Row: The Third Remastered, however, Sperasoft and Volition have pretty much improved every single asset and implemented graphical features that make it stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the prettiest open world games available right now. This is still Saints Row: The Third – which is to say that it’s one of the most enjoyable open-world games ever made – only now it looks and plays better then ever.

If you're gaming on Xbox One X, much of the game even plays out at 60fps. Just shy of a full-on remake, you aren't going to get a much better remaster than on offer. All of the new features delivered by Sperasoft for this new release are present and correct with the only notable differences coming from rendering resolution. The Xbox One operates at 1080p, while their enhanced equivalents bump the pixel count to 1440p. The game runs at a capped at a solid 30 frames per second, backed by a nice motion blur implementation that gives the impression of a very smooth level of performance overall. The options menu gives users the choice to remove the frame-rate cap, allowing the game to run as fast as it can. For the original Xbox One users in particular, it's not something recommend as the variance in frame-rate adds too much inconsistency to the gameplay experience. Xbox One X makes a pretty good fist of hitting the top-end 60fps, and can stay like that for extended periods of play time, with only a touch of dropped frames when the game is pushed really hard in certain lighting conditions. The default 30fps on its own is a huge improvement, and even when Xbox One dips beneath the target, it's still a gigantic improvement over the original game. Already, a compelling case is growing for a Saints Row The Third remaster purchase comprehensively addressing the original's frame rate challenges already makes it a better game to start with. Everything you need to know about the Saints Row The Third remaster in video form. There's a level of care and attention here that goes above and beyond expectations. I was immediately struck by how clean the game looks as Sperasoft uses temporal anti-aliasing and upscaling for a very stable and consistent presentation with very little shimmer. Then there are the content upgrades while the developer doesn't want to change the game as it's Saints Row The Third as it should have been. Going back to the original game today, it jut doesn't hold up. Environments are revamped with both primary and secondary characters possessing much more detail. The scenes are more dense, using more props. On top of that, there are more cars and people wandering the city streets which is another way overall density is improved. Vehicles remade, weapons improved, particle effects are better, with improved lighting. The remastered lighting system looks immensely improved with an impressive HDR implementation. Suffice to say, it's still Saints Row The Third, but with a full revamp that ensures that the game looks good on modern displays while importing a huge array of today's tech that aid in retaining the feel of the original game while bringing it up to date. Add in the impressive performance modes and it's pretty much the complete package. Saints Row The Third as a game is superb fun and it's a game that deserves the care and attention it has received and perhaps this kind of technological and monetary investment is indicative of efforts to re-invigorate the franchise? If you've never played the original you're in for a real treat on your Xbox One. If you have played the original you will definitely enjoy revisiting, especially if you are gaming on the Xbox One X.

Like it was for me in GTA years ago, I regularly have to laugh out loud playing this game. It gives you freedom, it's funny, great gameplay (the weapons alone are so cool), even the animations are not all that bad. In addition to that it is PS4 Pro enhanced, so in contrary to GTA5 at this console it looks like a modern optimized game from 2018 or 19. Not Triple A, but still up to date.

With the fourth Saints Row leaning ever more into the absurd, thanks to a plot that deals with alien invasions and virtual realities, Saints Row The Third Remastered is arguably the series at its best.

Fans of the series that missed this one would definitely enjoy this instalment. Saints Row: The Third was a sacred moment in time where lunatics reimagined the animus of an open-world crime game. It enabled players to thunderously lead a prestigious gang of miscreants and also turn themselves into a toilet. Eight years later Saints Row: The Third Remastered’s glut of Content is more difficult to digest, but its outrageous ambience is still so sweet.

Saints Row 3 is mechanically the best the series has ever been, and narratively the worst it's ever been, leaving this born-too-late remaster a mixed bag.

Saints Row: The Third time travels to 2020 with a solid remaster. This is the same game you remember from 2011, with all of the DLC and content packs along for the ride. Developer Sperasoft has redone some of the models, especially with regards to the vehicles, and added an all-new, more realistic lighting engine. Unfortunately, it still doesn't quite measure up to the original PC release, and all the bugs of the original are still here. Still, Saints Row: The Third is a wonderful experience despite all its flaws, and that remains true of this remaster release.

Saints Row: The Third Remastered can coast on some its nostalgic value. Its multitude of upgrade systems provide the necessary carrots to fulfill a true Saints-like power fantasy and its visuals do look better than ever. And while its humor just barely gets out alive, the other parts of the game — like the incessant, anger-inducing ragdolling, banal side mission design, and lack of new content — aren’t as funny. It’s a dildo bat that still has some heft behind its swing, but it’s gone pretty flaccid in the ensuing nine years.

If you've never played Saints Row: The Third then this is the case. The absences and most of the shortcomings of the original title remain and today they can't be justified.
