I have just finished this game and I can say: This is one of the best games I have ever played in my life, and I have played a lot of them!I have just finished this game and I can say: This is one of the best games I have ever played in my life, and I have played a lot of them! This game has one of the best, most realistic and darkest storylines ever written by Ubisoft. Playing this game in hard mode with permadeath is an amazing challenge!! The concept of recruiting literally anyone in the map is brilliant and works very well, and since there are a lot of special characters with unique skills and weapons, there's an almost pokemon vibe to it. But the biggest star here is the city of london, by far the most immersive city I've seen in a video game, and I've spent many hours just exploring it.

But here the gameplay is more generic and unpolished.Sometimes I accidently jumped to a camera because the distraction feature was not reloaded yet (they have the same button mapping), which was very annoying. Also sometimes you cant see how long the damn reload for the distraction feature needs.When trying to at least finish the story, the already boring gameplay slows you down even further, with an infiltration mission where you cant run, and which is done 100 times better in Hitman. The main missions changes from one plot to another, when it starts to get interesting, it cuts off and starts a new story with a spoken sentence like "it hurts to let go that person, but we have to find out more about the new thing". I thinked about to force me through this further, I saw that I had a playtime of 5 hours, and the internet said that the main story takes about 18 hours, so I only said no thanks. I dont want to waste my time further, for almost 2 times the same amount of time that I already spent.

What you end up with is an experience that shows a ton of promise, but ends up being entirely average. It’s hard to call Watch Dogs Legion a bad game outright. It’s a serviceable, if traditional, open-world game with a boring story and novelty mechanics that play out better on paper than in execution. So much fun, on to the gameThis isn't GTA the story is much deeper, its based in a v for vendetta style dystopian future London, the range of characters is good, the irish and northern irish accents are brilliant except brogue north dublin (I dressed those guys as grannies as north dubliners exude toxic fake masculinity). I'm having the best time.There is only one glaring fault, london taxis have the shortest turning circles of any vehicle in the game this isn't replicated, other than that this is a fab game and the dev team fully deserve plaudits.

My gripes really stem from the place of being a fan. Anyone entering Watch Dogs: Legion looking for a by the books open world game is going to find a lot to enjoy. There are small puzzles to solve, plenty of collectibles, lots of missions and I would say the shooting and driving are the best this series has ever been. Fans of the series like myself however will be disappointed by the lack of enjoyable characters as well as stand out missions and story beats. With how close Legion is releasing to Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and Immortals Fenyx Rising it feels like Watch Dogs: Legion was left to fight for your attention and your money with less money put into development. I would recommend both Watch Dogs 1 & 2 as well as plenty of other Ubisoft experiences from the last few years before Legion at full price.

The problem, unfortunately, is that something feels missing without a true hero character with a deep backstory and lots of personal demons and vendettas to drive the narrative forward.

Watch Dogs: Legion is a far more palatable experience on PS5 thanks to its vastly-improved load times and splendid visual upgrades. The only real technical gripes are that there’s little in the way of DualSense implementation, and the framerate, while steady, hasn’t been upped. Its base problems of open-world fatigue and messy storytelling are still problems that can’t be so easily fixed and still remain a significant barrier to enjoyment. It’ll give you a dazzling trip to London, but you wouldn’t want to stay there.

Watch Dogs: Legion has an enormous amount of replay value and a very compelling storyline with unexpected twists along the way, especially for those who want something thought provoking and gritty.

With the technical problems of the Xbox One version smoothed out and enhancements to the visuals and performance across the board, I can much more easily recommend the Xbox Series X version but that doesn’t fix the core design problems. Watch Dogs: Legion is incredibly impressive, but only insomuch as it is flawed. Thankfully, there is still a competent third-person open-world game at its core.

Watch Dogs: Legion sees DedSec return to a hugely impressive representation of near-future London that looks and sounds amazing but can't long cover for the fact the core gameplay here is repetitive, janky stuff that's barely evolved since the days of Aiden Pearce. Traversal is hampered by uninspired, tanky vehicles, combat is scruffy, enemy AI disappointing, and hacking and sneaking highly repetitive. The "play as anyone" mechanic too, much vaunted pre-release, starts out fun but soon reveals itself to be a superfluous addition whose main effect is to rob the narrative of a proper central protagonist. Fans of the series may well still find plenty to enjoy here but in the end this is an old-fashioned, run-of-the-mill open world offering dressed up as something altogether more futuristic and fascinating.

Watch Dogs: Legion is more of the same, albeit with more technical problems. Even the most diehard of Watch Dogs fans should wait for a patch or two before jumping in.

It’s a vibrant and exciting open world full of a wealth of missions, side missions, and recruiting to do, complemented by some decent visuals and brilliant audio work. As the hours have progressed I’ve become ever more excited for the opportunities that it throws up, so much so that now I’m already well invested in upcoming DLC and the promise of multiplayer elements.

I barely finished second game, it was just so boring. Open world was boring, characters were boring, story was weak. Legion's story is also weak (i guess it's a trend with these games), but there's so much more that keeps my interest. Hopefully wont get cracked in months, it would be disgusting if these same people who give 0's would download it for free. I bet they would do same with cyberpunk 2077. I will keep supporting this game and i'm also going to buy season pass, because they bring Aiden back. And i will also support cyberpunk 2077 and actually buy it.

Watch Dogs: Legion really impressed me with its ‘recruit anyone’ mechanic. While I wasn’t initially sure what to make a the non-central main character, it really didn’t affect things as a whole expected it to. The city of London is visually impressive and I’m constantly deep scanning NPC’s I come across to see if they’d make a worthy DedSec member. If you’re a fan of the series, Legion improves many facets of its gameplay, has a great campaign with clever writing and had me wanting to hack the planet by the time the credits rolled, even if the odd crash here and there frustrated.

The latest Watch Dogs does seem ripe for criticism, but at its core is a solid, fun title that is yet to leave the disk tray. Cruising through the London suburbs is a thoroughly enjoyable experience with a lot of replay-ability, if only to use the games camera mode to snap a selfie with a landmark. Some of the missions are also creatively designed and structured in a way that will live long in the memory and be the talking points with any friends on the fence about purchasing. The biggest downfall of Watch Dogs: Legion is the promise of something more. With no real incentive for recruitment outside characters given in missions, it remains very much a title for the generation. With a little more thought put into the mechanics and gameplay, focusing on how they could really have been revolutionised, this could have been an experience as future-proof as the world portrayed within it.

So far everything has worked fine. Graphics are nice as expected. Npc recruitment is fun, way better than blank npc's that watch dogs 2 had.

The newest Ubisoft open world title surprisingly enough sets innovation as its priority; and succeeds. A feature that lets you play any character is impressive and works quite well in the world of a dystopian London. The only real issues are a lack of challenge and rewards combined with a mixed enemy AI.

Watch Dogs: Legion is an interesting game with an innovative system and a compelling story. It’s not a blockbuster hit and it probably won’t make the running for GOTY this year, but its experimental systems and socially resonant plot make it worth checking out.

Though the replacement of authored characters with procedurally generated avatars has mixed results, Watch Dogs Legion is unique among GTA-style open world crime games as a result. That being said its not perfect, some actors are voiced poorly but for all of the actual NPCs they are voiced pretty well. Hell even the the ones that are voiced have a good variety of voice actors. If you’re a fan of Ubisoft’s open-world design, then you’ll enjoy this game to an extent, but there’s little done here that Watch Dogs 2 didn’t do as well or more so in 2016. It’s got a great story with a fun and inventive design. The “recruit anyone” mechanic is well designed and well implemented as are the ideas of what happens when characters are taken out of commission, regardless of whether you’re using the permadeath mode or not. The world is gorgeous, continually inviting you to dive back in and see what/who you can find.

It also bolsters the franchise's clever hacking gameplay to offer more creativity than ever. One of Legion's more profound messages is about what it means to be a true Londoner, and by the game's end, you'll have a DedSec crew made of wildly diverse and disparate citizens from unique cultural, ethnic, and economic backgrounds--all united in their goal to restore their home. If anything, that's as powerful a message for the game as you can get…Watch Dogs: Legion struggles with tone at times, but its empowering message about unity and justice still shines in a game that is as absurd as it is impactful.

Watch Dogs: Legion is a departure from the typical Ubisoft brand, and it's better for it. The play as anybody system just works, there's a lot to do, and it's unabashedly political in a way that feels important in 2020.
